It is a great idea to describe people whom you met in the real life, especially if they mattered to you. I think it would be better if you dedicated more time to each of your particular protagonists, to help your reader get to know them better.

How fascinating! I love intriguing historical pieces on brave, forward-facing folks like this. Amazing how brave and stoical people can be when they have a cause they believe so firmly in.
It's crazy that you should mention the Bataan Death March. We had a member here a while back whose grandfather was a member of that horrid atrocity. He made a post sharing some of the details - which caused me to write a poem. I later submitted an edited version to a website and it was pubbed in a collection of war poems and such. I am so amazed by those survivors. Wow.
This was well-written and engaging. I appreciate your time in creating it. Thank you!

This is an exceptionally interesting story, written with clear details and explanations. I enjoyed reading each slice-of-life short story that revealed how each story was related, and that you knew the people who knew the other people, like Ross Perot. This is an example of incredible storytelling.

I tend to stick with fiction as my main reading preference, enjoying the spoofy farces and quirky characters who aren't believable to most. However, I'll make exceptions to the usually dry truths when they are so interesting and well written as yours. Thank you very much for sharing. I wish I had a six.

It's always a risk. I well remember the UCMJ. 'Conduct unbecoming' was a very real threat. You didn't have to do anything, really.
