One Hundred Swords
by Yardier

Hahaha ... Excellent entry for the 100 Word Flash Fiction contest. I love the humor and flow of your flash fiction. It's hard to tell a complete story in such short amount of swords. :)

Well done!

It seems the theme of this contest is humour! This is a great entry, Yard. I have no idea why you ended up with a crate full of swords, but I'm glad you found humour in it. Well done. Good luck in the contest.

How clever to morph one hundred words into one hundred swords! Great! I am grinning ear to ear at that inspired thought! Your words are as keen and sharp as any sword...sliding through all pretense and stabbing at the heart of the challenge! I really hope this post nets you the big bucks!

I owe you a star... Fresh out!

Karenina

Ha, ha, haaaa! You just gave me an idea for a review on the cover page of my book. "... Yards use of words are as keen and sharp as any sword...sliding through all pretense and stabbing at the heart of the reader's imagination."

    Thanks for the inspiration!

Well, it's always a pleasure to see your name pop up and have the chance to read your posts. The poems are great, but your gritty and descriptive prose keeps me on the lookout, wanting more. Thanks for sharing.

Grit, eh? Got some coming from the darker side of night. Yep, so much grit you won't be able to get it out of your eyes or out of your mind...

I should be able to post it within the week after I finish the epilogue to Concertina.

Thanks for the review and kick in the pants.

Ok, you really need a hundred? It sounds like fun if you're both into sword play and maybe a little Robin Hood and Maid Marion. Best of luck in the 100-word flash fiction contest.

Thanks, Carol. No, I'm not into jousting but I do like to jest a bit. (;-)

This is the way to write a flash fiction, I remained as a dumb man until the end. And the words that awaken even the sleepiest of people, will likes wise wake me, beautifully written my friend, good luck, blessings Roy

Hmm, interesting. I guess the answer was: play with them. Carefully.

One hundred swords? What am I going to do with one hundred swords?

- Is this part dialogue? I wasn't sure as this looks like mostly a dialogue only short story.

Thanks, lancellot. No not dialogue. Flash fiction. Beginning, middle and twist at the end. It was a fun write. Yard.

If swords are words and words are swords, you've done a lot. You've taken one hundred words and built an interesting flash fiction contest entry. If this is the winning entry, it could net one hundred dollars. Exactly! Best wishes in the contest.

Who on earth would want one hundred swords? Amy seems to know what to do with at least one of them!! Lol. This, I think, is a play on words for the 100 word flash fiction story. Very well done, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Exactly! I was going to return them until I realized they were coated with gold. If I don't win first place, I'll see if my banker will take a sword or two. Yard :))

LOL!! I think I would do that anyway!! 100 swords would take up a lot of space hanging on the wall!!

This work has reached the exceptional level

Only thing missing is why and how the protagonist received 100 swords, but...maybe it isn't necessary. What a nice hint at the end, could 100 swords be a metaphor for words? Okay, it's a guess that the end is a hint, but it's also a statement that the end is a perfect lead-in to more. I hope you'll expand once the contest is over, it seems like there is so much more to tell and I want to know.

Yes indeed, Olivanne, there is so much more to the story. Walter and Amy are in over their heads. I just hope they don't lose them.
