I enjoyed reading this contest entry. I also find one hundred swords a little too many, unless it's a one-hundred-word entry and the swords are representing the that. I am really pushing it the envelope now. LOL Good luck with the contest. I love your writing.

Hi Barbara! Yes, it is a lousy metaphor for sure. But I couldn't help myself. One hundred words in flash fiction? Not much room for beginning, middle and end with a twist. One hundred spoons didn't quite sound right and one hundred and one Dalmatians was copywritten. I figured, just add an S to words and start counting. It worked out EXACTLY one hundred swords. Go figure.
