The alliteration with s's becomes onomatopoetic. It creates the sounds of the water. The r's create a sense of strength. The b's & p's create a explosive tone. Look at your lips as you pronounce the b or p words. Well done

A lovely descriptive free verse interpretation, JLR of the passing of time and knowledge through time spent together. Really enjoyed this one. Cheers

Nicely done, JLR. The Pa in your poem was my Grand-Pa years ago. I was lucky, as your youngster in the poem was, to have a guiding hand while growing up.

Linda, that is very kind on your part to give this poem a six star validation. Yes, those special times we have with our families are the jewels that can?t be ours purchased.

This free verse, Life's Lessons Learned, finds the teachable moment when the wisdom of the family's forefathers travels again from father to son. Nice.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. It read as a story/poem. I am sure that was your intent. I enjoyed your memory and it brought up some of mine dealing with fishing.

This is an excellent poem. I hope the writing club likes it as much as I do. First, it has a great message of information passing from father to child to grandchild. Second, the imagery of the evening is beautiful. Excellent work. Terry.

I like the way you presented the teaching through generations of many sayings presenting wisdom for living and life lessons. Central to this is the fishing pole being passed through the generations.
Well done. Very effective and impactful.

You did a great job with the picture, JLR. I love the thought of Pa passing down the lessons he'd learned from his own father in that spot, using that pole. What a beautiful memory poem!
Blessings and thank you for sharing.
