this took such a turn I wasn't expecting! I love the idea that there are aliens out there looking at Earth nervous to come here! I mean actually that's kind of like a terrifying thought but cool nonetheless. I really enjoyed this, thank you for sharing.

This one-hundred-word story, Into the Unknown, has the proper word count and shifts the point of view of exploring strange new worlds to the visitor. I doubt we are cool enough to receive octopus people without the usual knee-jerk military reaction.

Very cool twist. You would think that only having 100 words would keep you from being able to fully tell the story; but you make the situation very realistic, and show detail and personality. Well done!

Excellent entry for the 100 Word Story writing prompt contest. Well written and follows the contest rules. It's hard to tell a complete story in 100 words but you managed well.
The end is a big surprise, aliens coming to earth, good one.

The Alien Planet, as it was known, was occupied by wealthy, happy, and prosperous extraterrestrial dwellers. Having faith in what they could provide the universe, a gathering of 2,222 of these aliens set out to discover the Alien Planet. (Via the Internet. Could not answer this comment until I did some searching.)

I enjoyed how your story put a mirror on space exploration, with the tentacled aliens wondering about aspects of Earth as a destination. (Perhaps you should add a cap E to your earth.)

Perhaps it is me, but in reading these entries there is very little to vote positively the best. Is it the limitation of a thousand words? I guess. but of the ten read thus far you are either one or two that has a dash of understanding.

This short story provides an amusing twist to the classical space exploration science fiction experience. I thoroughgly enjoyed my read, except for the visually disturbing flash. (my eyes don't appreciate such an intense visual component of FF)
