I give you a six on this one. Russia, however, has nothing on America.
Biden is far past the stage of being spoon fed. They are both destroying
the country they govern. Your poem is right on, funny but also very sad.

Thank you very much for your assessment of my poem. This is a difficult topic - not at all suited to a limerick approach. In my opinion there is no humour at all in such a dire situation.
(Biden has certainly not proven to be an inspirational leader, unless you could say he inspires ridicule and contempt.)

The contest is inviting satirical limericks. It's so sad what's going on. But I wonder how many people are deceived by Putin. I remember a satirically humorous book about a character who idolized Stalin and she saved his statue. Of course, you have realize how deceived that poor character was to find the whole thing funny. Best wishes in the contest!

I actually think it is in very bad taste to have a humour contest about this terrible situation. I don't think satire suits this as it is too fresh and too obviously awful a violation of innocent lives.
The contest states: 'A worthy entry should be humorous, intellectual, and offensive'; therefore mine is unworthy - not funny, not intellectual as anyone with half a brain can see the injustice, and it is Putin who is being offensive.

I saw it as another opportunity to write about my feelings of utter distress at the situation.

A limerick on such a topic would not have been easy - but you have done it wit skill and flair. And you also command attention with the line about babies. He can't justify his actions on "clearing the land of Nazis" when innocent babies and children are killed along with the vast majority of others who are not and never have been Nazis.
Best wishes for your entry.
Wendy

Yes, I couldn't understand the tone of the requirements. However, the Committee is unlikely to dq you - they don't seem to notice when others flagrantly disregard the rules. And everyone will understand that the situation does not lend itself to humour, and I can't really imagine why or how humour can be incorporated anyway. Intellectual? Who can judge what is "intellectual". Yours is intelligent and well thought through. Offensive? You are right to say Putin is the offensive one ... It's probably offensive to him if you point it out. It's a strange contest, for sure, with those requirements - did he really think through what he was asking?

I think Harambe for President, who set the contest, has a strange sense of rocking the boat.

This limerick seemed like a hard challenge for a contest, but you've come up with a winner. Beautiful sculpture and information attached, too! Thanks!
