A narrow viewpoint leads to judgmental attitudes, indeed. Your open mindedness has been shaped by your travels and associations with peoples from around the world. I wish everyone was able to travel as extensively as you have - the world would be a better place.
We'll spoken and a pleasure to read!

This was an excellent piece on diversity. It reminded me of my sister, who is a language teacher who travels to different places around the world. It sounds like you have had many exciting adventures, too. Having read about some, I know how much you enjoyed them. Thanks again for sharing!

Very good story of your travels, and the diversity of our beautiful world.
You were very fortunate to get that opportunity, and I can see that your experiences in different cultures influenced your philosophy.
Many people, all over the world foster a dream of the unification of humanity, a day when we will stop fighting and killing each other a recognize the need for a common ground.
Good work,
irish

Thank you Irish. Lovely review. Even if people don?t celebrate their differences it would be good if they could stop killing each other for them!

Wendy, Wow! This is a sensational piece of writing. I was completely enthralled all the way through. What is a beautiful hands-on way for your children to learn. The message this sends exceeds only deepens the message of compassion and a nonbiased understanding of diversity among the human race. Well written and well structured. Loved it! Best, JohnC

I enjoyed reading this post, as it is well written and presented.
The color changes are effective at leading the reader through your story. The topic of diversity is relevant given the current climate we live in the United States.
I hope your readers will receive your message.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful review. Each person has value and a life story, and the world would be so much better if we all recognised that.

I love the sentimental tone throughout this piece. I can really feel the love you have for all of these people, cultures, and places. I couldn't agree with you more. Celebrate diversity, open your heart and mind to love people for who they are. Everyone has value and something to teach. Thank you for sharing this! It's really beautiful.

This article is a tribute indeed to how travel does indeed broaden the mind and brings us into contact with great diversity, making us more aware of our 'neighbours'

I enjoyed reading your story here. You have had quite the interesting life with travel and exposure to different cultures. France is quite the melting pot and I like your description of your experiences there. I also like how you structured your story with different colors, it adds emphasis to your theme of diversity.

Quite an eventful life indeed. Yes, it has always been difficult for me to accept certain types of "diversity.' But, I have to agree with you, I cannot form a logical argument against what you say. If only we all could mesh the way you imagine us doing. What a different world this would be.

In my younger days I worked as a nurse assistant in a state facility for the severely handicapped. There was one young man crippled with extreme cerebral palsy. However, he could move.

I took him out in the world one day and took him bowling. He actually scored a strike. I was so excited for him that I couldn't stop talking about it when we returned to the facility. Sadly, my fellow workers paid little to no attention. It was almost as though they were saying "so what?" This kid was great and I will remember those couple of hours forever.

Nothing quite as dramatic as what you have had the privilege to experience but very extreme for me.

It's amazing how much the song "Imagine" by John Lennon, reflects exactly what you are expressing in your last three paragraphs...if only!!!

I am awarding this work one of my coveted six star ratings. Because you see the world as it should be and are not afraid to express it to all who are willing to read about it.

Thank you Gary. I rejoice with you about his bowling success because I know what that means. At least he could see your excitement. Ours too had extreme cerebral palsy, epilepsy was non -verbal. He can only move one arm a little bit. However he is now in a group home and lives a happy and fulfilled life with significant help for gardening, cooking, music, art and craft etc.
Re accepting diversity I try to accept and care for an individual but don?t agree with certain behaviours. Thanks so much for the six stars, and for such a thoughtful review. It?s an honour I value highly.

This is a very well written commentary on celebrating diversity. You gave many well descriptive examples of how positive experiences with diversity in people and cultures have enriched your life. Well done.

But... this is only about celebrating, and only tells half a story. It only highlights the positives and completely ignores any and all negatives, dangers or pitfalls that do happen and has happened.

Completely your choice, but it should be noted.

Thank you Lancelot. An astute review! I am entering this on another site and it had to be on this topic so I am only focusing on the " celebrating aspects. Diversity has some negatives. I try always to distinguish between the person and the behaviour. My students and my children too all knew I cared for them as individuals, but not all behaviours were acceptable, so the behaviours were corrected. The person was not attacked. That was to me important. Thank you for your thoughtful words and insights. I appreciate them.
