You are welcome.

Impressive definition of "Paraskevidekatriaphobia" which the Fanstory dictionary doesn't even know. I only knew "Triskaidekaphobia" but am glad to know the very specific phobia name. Congratulations on the win!!

I knew there was a word for it, but had to look it up to see whether I could make a poem out of it!

Thank you for this most fun read about a mythical numerically charged day. Your poem is chock full of delicious pairings and phrase coining. You've even included a smart little double entendre! Among my favorites are 'scavenge dignity,' 'overthinking shivers,' and 'imabically contained.' It's a fridge keeper... high compliment here!

Thanks so much, Beri :-). I sometimes take things too far, but I love playing with words to the point they sometimes become tongue (and mind) twisters. I'm really happy you enjoyed this!

You made it very fun!

Well, it sounds like you have any Friday the 13th qualms contained and conquered. I have never heard the word 'para...' whatever before, but now I will know what it is and what it means, though I will probably never use it in casual conversation.
Nicely done.

This twelve-line, free verse about Friday the Thirteenth, Paraskevidekatriaphobia, is well-rounded as it includes the subject matter, and the way it is captured within the rules of poetry framing.

Yay, a humorous and clever approach to a contest. Great wordplay, and of course I had to hit the dictionary to see if you were pulling my(our) leg(s). I can't remember a Friday the 13th without a twinge of trepidation. Fun to read? Yes indeed.
By the way, I suffer from Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia, so this was a challenge.

Your contest entry is well presented. FF. I enjoyed reading it.
I like the color scheme and your word choices. Your words flow
smoothly with good imagery. I like the word that begins para. . .
the last line.
Best wishes in the contest, Jan

Welcome back!!! I've missed your posts but see you haven't lost any of your writing talent. I was not away that there was a fear of Friday 13th. It makes sense though. Thank you for sharing this writing prompt with us.

Aww, thank you :-). I can't believe it's 8 years since I was posting regularly. Good to see some names I recognise are still in the mix!

As one who's going to my granddaughter's graduation tomorrow, I'm glad to say that Friday the 13th is just another day to me--BUT some have that irrational fear you have so descriptively addressed.

I read it twice just because there seemed like there was a lot squeezed into this poem. I honestly haven't hears of this fear before, so thanks for the info and intro to something I didn't know existed!

I sometimes feel I could pick up something random from my desk and someone, somewhere will be terrified of it! Many thanks for the review :-)
