This five-liner definitely gives one a sense of Autumn as the colored leaves ruffle in "October's crisp breeze." Indeed, for most viewers it is the "last show" of the season. Nicely done.

The picture sets the stage well for this poem that shows the sight and the feel of fall as the breeze ruffles the brightly colored leaves, creating the feeling of sadness that comes with the season. I hope this does well in the contest.

I wouldn't normally see orange and gold as anything other than vibrant colours, but combined with that harsh wind and the last movements of the dying leaves - I get it!
Beautifully written and with such vivid imagery, this is a wonderful poem.

Well, Debra, you just made my day. I treasure every "exceptional" I receive, and they seem to be harder and harder to get (which is probably a good thing). I really appreciate your support. You might find this amusing, but I wrote this at Heathrow Airport on our way back from France which I believe is in your "neck of the woods"
