This one-hundred-word story, Missing You, Missing Me, has the required word count and reminds us all that even Adonises have to deal with spoiled wives.

Spoiled. Nah. Determined? Possibly. Even a furnace can only take so much wood.

Oh dear, the old story of mis-matched libido. You need sex and your wife needs sleep. I had to look up what BMOC meant - it's not a term I'm familiar with, but now I know I can tell you've never had a problem with self esteem. Do you always hike in your underpants?

LisaMay that was near fifty years ago, and tighty-whities were in. I conclude BMOC is not a familiar term outside the USA. It's Big Man On Campus. I was a four sport participant, twenty seven years old, living off campus, with a job, and therefore money in a field full of lovelies but in their teens. Very challenging. I was told as an older men the girls found me interesting but they would not dare date someone 8-10 years older than they.

I would've dated you. When I was 18 (51 years ago) I would've loved to get your tighty-whities off. My first boyfriend was 32. My second one was 29. Now I just need my sleep, haha.

My wife's mother told her she needed a more mature man as my missus found the boys she dated to immature. When the aprents came to watch me b-ball she asked which one was the guy, and replied well Myra, how mature is he? 29! My girl was 19.

100 words on the nose while satisfying Main character (Myra), setting (bedroom), conflict (Myra uncooperative), resolution (cold shower). I don't know what BMOC is, but I can imagine. I especially liked the line "...red-hot burner burning" Been there partner.

Good job.

BMOC Big man On Campus. Participated in four sports, was a 'senior' recruit (age 27) and mysterious to girls in their teens.

Hello BMOC, when you got it flaunt it. A fun story. When a couple says, I do, they are married for a very long time and the cycles of marriage are as varied as the cycles of life. I especially liked:

where I will survive while missing you, missing me.
(heartfelt and sincere)

On the positive side, if the hot water heater breaks down, you still have all the cold water that you need. This story made me smile.
As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

but the cec says the count is off. I had to add two or subtract one and now i did a word-by-word count to have according to basic math 100.Previously, a word counter also said 100.

Days, gone, belief, attitude remain the same, the theme of romance, romantic feeling, all remain the same of touching, the same feeling continues, like having, missing you, missing me, all the same feeling; conflict and resolution remain as it is; touching; well said, well done; post god speed more; positively encouraging editing, negatively not wording, forgiving errors of theist-good authors-writers. A slightly tongue-in-cheek tale of frustrated passions and how things change over time. I enjoyed the familiar situation and entertaining read.

Couple of small notes:

'Alot.' - should be 'A lot.'

'A third cold shower, in twenty-four hours' - comma can be removed

Mike

This is very interesting. I think in the beginning, you may want to change how the dialogue is aimed at another character and not at the reader. The author's notes. I'm not sure you want to tell us, how you see the elements.
But, that's your choice.

Interesting comments. Please continue. The contest directions were to include: Main Character, Setting, Conflict, Resolution. Myra, is my wife, and then there's me. I sort of sense a difficulty but cannot identify it. What other character could there be? Help me, understand. As for the author's note, I need not the CEC stating a,b,c, or d are missing.

I love this, it is so true to real life. I can remember the passion of those early days that we thought would last for ever. Now, fourteen years later things are so different. You have written this so well.
