This narrative poem is excellent in every respect--and is appealing to this adult, as it will be to children. You have told the young girl's exciting story
in vivid detail, leading to the joy and pride at the end. Such an event is a VERY big deal to a child!

This was a fun poem. You told a good story in verse. All the way through, the reader could feel the little girl's hope and dread at the same time, and then at the end, her pride.

I am a huge fan of children's poem. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Your entry didn't disappoint us. The rhyming was good and I am a fan of baseball. Good luck with the entry.

Hi Paul, an awesome poem for a Children's poetry contest...

I love watching sports games my grandkids are in...
and baseball is one of them...of course Noah started
out in T-Ball...I'm one of those grandma's that like her grandkids to know I am there...and cheering for them...as I stand on the bleachers and yell and wave...my grandkids just
tell their friends...that's my grandma...and laugh and wave back...

I so love your story told my sweet friend...so many memories there...and I'm so glad Joanne scored the winning run...
love your poem you...picture...perfect...very well written...love Linda xxoo

Thanks, Linda. I watched my grandkids play sports as much as I could, but I'm afraid that I was one of those people who thought they had to work all the time.

Nice! This is a cute story, nicely told in rhyme. I think children would enjoy it, and it's interesting enough for mom and dad to read to them, too! Very good!

I don't know much about T-Ball. But I liked your rendition of the game. Kids are brought up on sports. Every country is different. Our kids taught swimming at age three. I wish you well in the contest. K xx

Woo-hoo! What child wouldn't live this poem? Well, except for Tommy Jones, I mean.)

Wicked fun read! Super believable lines, great aabb rhyme scheme and Hurrah for having the girl be the hero!

Congrats on Milestone post number 50!

Me too. My first grandchild (Madison) had to struggle onto an all boy "T" ball team thirteen years ago. Not so anymore!
