Dads are loosening up it seems. Mine had bouts of comic relief but they were few and far between. He never became a child like this one. I wish mine could have unbent a bit more.

My father was greatly feared; he never did anything like this. But my son Dan plays like this with his three young daughters (6, 4 and 1) all the time. It's lovely to see.
    Thank you for your review.

If one goes back another generation I think the fathers were even more austere.

Here's to the loosening up. I'm all for it.

Well done, great presentation. Your poem brought back memories of childhood. Being thrown up in the air and riding on dad's back. I don't think we ever forget those special days growing up.

How wonderful to have had such a lovely childhood! This is what my son does with his three little girls. Thank you so much for the six lovely stars!

Dad threw my sister in the air, not for fun; she was sick with whooping cough and mum had to take her out to Dubbo for the dry air.

Lovely poem, Wendy. It captures the delight of uninhibited playtime. It gave me a bit of a pang - I was Daddy's girl and we used to play like this, even down to writing rhymes.
Our first poem that I memorised was:
Wouldn't it be funny
to see a little bunny
sitting on the dunny
eating bread and honey.

You had a wonderful childhood with him. My son Dan does this sort of thing with all his 3 girls. It?s so lovely.
Nothing like that with my own father. Thanks for reviewing.
I loved the poem you and your Dad made up. Funny and sweet and a very special memory.

Dad used to swing me into bed like I was a sack of spuds when I was little, hanging upside down in my flannel nightie with him gripping the hem near my feet closed like a bag.
