This was a nice poem about the rain. It can come with it's own music that's nice to take in when it's there. I'll just have to think of it more often. Thank you for sharing!

This nonet is excellent in every respect--skillfully composed, appealing, and very creative--using a series of musical terms to describe the "music" of the falling rain.

I enjoyed this nonet that highlights the beauty and rhythm of the falling rain. Nature sets the pitch and the pace - we just need to follow. At the end of it - we'll see that rainbow. Perfect piece for spring, a time of rebirth and renewal.

I enjoyed the strong imagery of music throughout this one with the final culmination of do - re - mi, unexpected, but just right. Best wishes for your clever and original entry in the contest.

-Nice image and presentation, Jim.
-You wrote a good nonet with a good topic, and shape.
-Very good use of sound imagery like "pitter-pattering"
and "drip by drip."
-Effective musical imagery, too, and a good ending
with the song lyrics!
-You put a lot into this, and I enjoyed it.
-One thing to look at is line one; you have 9 syllables.
One suggestion is
Pitter-pattering rain adds/makes/sets rhythm
-Good luck in the contest.

A perfectly formed nonet full of the melody of raindrops and I do find the pitter patter soothing at night when I am cosy in my bed sleeping. I enjoyed the ride here, love Dolly x

JLR,
This is very clever. Your words match the picture, to the last drop. There is definitely music and rhythm in the rain. The multitude of sound vibrations brings healing to the earth and listening ear.
(Just wondering about the syllable count in line 1 - I think there are 10.
It doesn't spoil anything for me but might matter for the contest? Changing the word 'creates' to 'beats' or dropping the 'ing' off pattering might help? All up to you. I like it anyway.)

Whitewave hum, I must be missing something. I used the site: how many syllables to recheck ...
    pitter - 2
    pattering - 3
    rain - 1
    creates - 2
    rhythm -1

9 total thanks for your serious concern - I so value input....
reply by Whitewave on 24-May-2022
    Rhythm = rhy / thm = 2
This has to be 2 syllables but no worries.
    Good luck.

Oh, I like this poem! I like the metaphor of water being music and the ponds collecting tones. Most inventive. Good job on this, JLR! And best of luck on the contest!
