Oh, how VERY true is this!!
Our family gets together, and while they
say 'how nice it is, that everyone's here'...
half of them are on their phones. The other half
will reach for theirs within an hour.
Everything/one is replaced.
Especially God.
I LIKE the unsettling quality to this.
It SHOULD be.
Blessings...

I have insufficient data to debate the point but hope to God my intelligence is not all encompassed on a cd-rom or whatever it's called for when I leave mortality, I cannot take anything but mu memories and faith with me.

Thanks for the excellent review and for the perspective on the piece. I wanted that last line and all the religious references in the poem to reflect the idea that people in society today in general do not rely on faith in God but in their technology to deal with issues, including their perception of death and their idea of imortality. I wanted to get people thinking. estory

An awesome poem about artificial intelligence and how dependent we are with it. Nice presentation and imagery. It flows well with beautifully descriptive words that paint a clear poetic vision..

Beautifully written my friend, even my grandchildren are under its influence although their parents keep a wary eye on them, I've always thought that innocence is the best part of growing up, this is very good, it's another way of stopping folk from thinking and working their lives, well done, blessings Roy

Thanks so much for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. I shudder to think what it must be like to raise kids in this techno social media world. I saw what my sister went through and I'm sort of glad I don't have kids in this day and age. estory

They are OK ,if one balances it with a spiritual perspective, a bubble is necessary

We live an artificial existence when we bow down to this Addictive Impostor - A.I. Of course, there is a balance of positive and negative in everything but I will not allow my intelligence to become artificial. To me, A.I. is a spy - a man made monster intent on turning us all into unintelligent robots. Yes, it is scary.

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. you have to keep your distance from AI and maintain your autonomy and control. You have to keep your humanity, but it is not easy to stay out from under its manipulation. estory

I always enjoy a well written satire, and this definitely fits the bill. I think it's a fine "title track" for your new poetry book, as it leaves lots of room to develop your poetry.

We are linked in and wired most of the time, and I am interested to see where you go vis-a-vis technology replacing religion.

Much enjoyed this. :))

This is a great way to describe the things that make our lives go more smoothly. The GPS helps many. Those old videos with the greatest movie stars return to life in our living room, bedroom, etc. The great bands play for hours, giving us memories to look back on. Thank you.

Thanks for the excellent review and your support for my piece. Technology might be convenient, but convenience isn't necessarily good either. We were made to work and serve humanity. Satisfaction comes through work, not through convenience. estory

I got your religious analogy straight away with all those references. We have handed over our lives to AI. Your poem got me thinking... I think we are too far down the track to reclaim our lives. We have become slaves to all our 'freedoms' of choices.

Thanks for the excellent review and your perspective on the piece. Freedom of choice is not really what we have. It might appear that we do. But those behind the technology are using it to manipulate humanity for their own ends. Glad the poem got you thinking. estory

I enjoyed all the clever analogies and parallels between spiritual faith and reliance on technology. We had a power cut not long ago and I found the lack of light and heating no problem at all. The worst bit? Loss of the internet!

I enjoyed your piece.

Thank you for sharing. I honestly believe there is too much dependence on this artificial intelligence. I think it's going to be ruination of us all. I did enjoy reading.

Thanks for the excellent review and it sounds like we are on the same page about technology. I don't even have a cell phone. 90% of what I do on the computer is here on Fanstory. Otherwise, I don't have much use for it. estory
