This was an interesting final chapter G and with the different authors styles for us to learn from. This series is something we can go back on thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. Cheers

Hi! I'm jumping in at the end but will bookcase this and go back. Why in heaven's name aren't I getting notices of your posts? I will check again--for my decrepit computer keeps toying with my fan list! (It has to be the device; I'll not admit to being that clumsy!)

I have zero confidence in writing prose. (This is why I review so much!)

You have made this "show don't tell" concept much clearer to me.

If ever I gain the intestinal fortitude to wander into the land of prose one more, I will reference this.

Thanks for sharing your talent.

Now, off to see what is up with my fan list!

You know, I started as a poet. i was a published poet before joining the site, now I rarely write it. I'd never written a short story until I came here. I'm regularly published now which is nice. You just have to bite the bullet! lol

    I did not know that...

On those rare occasions when I've "bit the bullet" and posted prose here I enjoyed it.

Now and again, I jump in and let the words out of their pen!

    Thanks, Karenina

I have enjoyed this series of your valuable insights, GF. It helps to be reminded from time to time for us amateurs because it is so easy to forget when you have a habit of story telling. Giddy

I found your lessons in teaching, very educational and rather enjoyable, G. I really enjoyed learning because you did so in a creative manner of speaking. Very well done and greatly enjoyed.

I haven't been involved in reading this series because it passed under my radar, but I see you are offering some excellent advice for writers. I may need to go back and check out your portfolio for what I've missed.

Thank you for the classes entertainingly wrought, and generously offered. Thank you.
You finally, in the very last segment, provided something with which I could contest (smiley face here) - I don't think Tolkien ever went too far depicting his settings. He makes them as real as home. lol
Best wishes.

This was a wonderful series you created. I'm looking forward to your next writing. The examples were spot on I thought. Enjoy your day or is it evening. Shirley

I loved the first extract from Behold The Dreamers. I still remember it as vividly as when I first read it. That must be a good thing.
After reading a previous chapter in this series, I was about to post a very short story, but I haven't had the time (end of term) and besides I need more dollars.
I'd forgotten, but you've reminded me with this final round. I dreamt that I had already posted my story and you were telling me how horrible it was, because it was all show. I do really have a problem with this. I'll have to keep on practising.
Thanks for sharing.
