Your skillfully-written, powerfully expressive poem captures the atmosphere of chaos and confusion to which we've, sadly, become accustomed. Yes, often our choice is to be silent and just go along OR speak out and be yelled down.

When we see changes that we disagree with we must always stand against them as often the changes have a tendency to be become permanent if no one objects. This is why we must always say something when we see something wrong, a poignant write Belinda, love Dolly x

Thank you so much! It's so hard not to stand. I agree with you. We should stand, otherwise no one objects. Blessings.

Doesn't it go back to the saying God gave us one mouth and two ears on purpose. Rarely, do we hear what the others are saying because our minds are chattering away like magpies upon the opening remark of the other person.

Isn't that the truth?! I've had to review my own beliefs and hold myself accountable to that truth. Thank you so much for your feedback.

Congratulations on your milestone post. The world is in a bad place, and you have shown your concern in this poem. As long as we have politicians running the country, I think things will get worse.

Milestone 100! Take a moment to celebrate this accomplishment!

We are living on a stone soup of division and hypercriticism. Labels everywhere. Fingers point before a dissenting voice can take a second breath.

We do need more tolerance... Some common sense of purpose. Some common sense!

Love that you opted for some slant rhymes...not quite perfect and this reinforcing the "ecclectic."

Clearly well thought ought.

You might consider moving this from general poetry to commentary and philosophy!

Congrats again on your achievement!

Karenina

Great write. We all need to fig deep and consider the trajectory we seem to be on. Who IS that charming child you are holding??? Such a lovebug!

Thank you so much. That?s my grandson when he was about 18 months. He?s 13 now. Time has flown.

Oh my GOSH! Imagine! My oldest granddaughter turned 18 in April, got her driver's license last Wednesday, graduates H.S. On June 7th and begins four-year college towards her BSN in nursing in late August. I'm so proud...wondering how SHE got to be so old when I haven't aged a DAY! (smile)-- Don't you just want to lay the hourglass on its side now and then????-- Karenina

I?m so proud for your granddaughter! So exciting to start college with a career in mind. My sister and my daughter are nurses. We need good nurses. Yes I certainly do want to lay it on its side. I asked my granddaughter what happened to my little girl. She smiled. Lol.

I hear you! I have a 13-, 12- and 8-year-old grandchild as well as my Madison/18. Where did those babies go? Seems yesterday I was pushing them in strollers! Congrats again on your 100th post!

The author's words are deep, clear, descriptive, meaningful, have a message and are creative. I found these words thought provoking and interesting. The poem flows and connects well. The background color goes well with both the theme and words of this poem.

Hello Belinda,
Well done on your poem. I agree that the truths by which this country was founded has been ridiculed and demonized as you say. Congratulations on your 100th posting. That's quite an accomplishment.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Good poem. Given recent occurrences, I found these lines particularly apt:
"Is there a point when we can recognize
Foundational truths are demonized?
The fabric of our country tears
More with each challenging stare."
I sometimes wonder who left the zoo doors open and let the animals escape to plague us...so sad :-(

Strong message at a time when negativity spreads at the speed of light while messages of love and truth face never-ending scrutiny, The internet has become the world's largest source of bullying. Well done.

Thank you so much John. Yes I started writing at 14. I'm about to turn 57. Been at it for a while. Thank you so much for the congratulations and for the review. I actually had someone else tell me the same thing a couple of years ago.
