I'm new to Fan Story and I must say how much this posting affected me. I am so sorry you have been going through so much. They say God doesn't give us more than we can bare, but when I read how this has affected your own health, I wonder.

Stay strong in your faith, but also stay strong in common sense. God helps those who help themselves. You have no choice but to take care of your own health. Regards, Lilly

Dear Lilly, thank you for your very sympathetic response to my post. It's also hard for me to understand, but I have to deal with it. You said I have no choice but to take care of my own health, and you're right about that -- I appreciate the caring reminder. I also have no choice but to trust in my Heavenly Father. As the disciples said to Jesus, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Once we commit to Christ, there really is no turning back. Even though our common sense may tell us that the way ahead looks impossible, we must trust that God has "got our back" even in the worst of storms. If we trust in the world, or in the enemy of our souls, there's no peace in that. He won't abandon me. God bless you, my friend. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Oh, Mary, you do have a lot on your plate to cope with. I was looking after my mum in her last weeks, but in the end the nurse suggested she go into hospital. I have been racked with guilt ever since because she died shortly after. I should have kept her at home. You are in an even worse dilemma. You are suffering with illness, too. I understand how hard it must be for you. Be strong, I'm sure God is watching and has His plan. It's not much comfort at the moment, not when you are hurting too, but I'm glad you still trust Him. We'll all be adding you all to our prayers, my friend. Take care. Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra, for your kind understanding. I know you have experienced much of what I'm going through. It can really be a struggle, not only with our time, effort and stamina, but emotionally. I'm so sorry you lost your mother, and then wondered whether you did the right thing, allowing her to go to the hospital. These are very difficult decisions. May God give you peace, and I hope He gives my mother comfort and a new sense of purpose at the assisted living facility. This, also, is a very difficult choice for us both. Thank you so very much for your prayers! Love, Mary Kay xoxo

Oh my, You are up against it. Life can get us down at times, but things always work out for the good. You have the right attitude when it comes to coping and I know God has a plan that will work for the best. I pray everything will be resolved soon and your life will settle down again. Nancy:)

Since you made this "pay" well for our time reading it (I am inspired by how considerate you are toward EVERYONE), I will make it pay by awarding six stars. I understand how busy and overwhelmed you are, yet you are doing what you can to update your friends at FS and make it worth their while to read your long post.

I don't mind reading long posts if they are interesting and well-written - yours was both. I don't know you, but I feel your pain through your words. I was in a similar situation with my mother 15 years ago, but I was in good health and I know that makes a tremendous difference when you are taking care of another. I wish you all the best, and I will pray that things improve for all once she is placed in assisted living.

Take care, and I hope we hear from you when you are able to write more.

Thank you for the update, dear friend. I see you faith is being tested by severe trials. In Him, we have the Victory in our overcoming faith. We are His! May the Lord afford you everything you need at this time. When I started going blind, I thought my best years were behind me. Not so!

Sending you my best today, with loving prayers of comfort, peace, and refreshing waters of life in Christ.
Love always,

Mary Kay, I am so sorry. :You are still on my prayer list. I was afraid something like this was going on in your. I will pray even more often for you now. I know what it is like to be care giver and I was one even in my late seventies and with knee problems going back over twenty. I know how difficult it can be. I know the Lord will bring you both through this. Your Mom has to know how much you are willing to sacrifice for her.

Thank you so much, dear Beth, for your kind and empathetic understanding, and especially for your prayers. I think you might be the only person who guessed at the reason for my absence (even though others are kindly praying for us). Thank you for your encouragement and reassurance, which are very meaningful right now. May God bless you and your family, my friend.

Ciao!

I'm sorry to read about your family problems.

It's not easy to care for an ageing parent especially if they have a serious health condition too.

Caring for someone is tiring physically and mentally.

Not driving is definitely a big draw back also.

One wastes a lot of time using public transport and frankly now it's not the ideal means of transport due to covid.

Also after the 50 year mark , we all start to have our own ailments.

My best friend's father is bedridden and dying .. our health system has collapsed so Medicare services are becoming scarce.

Also medication creams, ointment, bandages, disinfectant, incontinent pads handouts are far and few these days.

I understand the drama you are living.

I will remember you in my prayers.

This sounds like you are suffering from chronic caregiver fatigue. My caregiver David suffered the same thing and he had brain fog and stressful sleep until he was able to retire. I have used caregivers that the government pays for called IHSS caregivers and they have been lots of help to me.
I hope this information helps. I feel for you my friend and hope you find relief soon.
Keep praying and wishing for a better outcome. Positive attitudes help in these cases.
Take good care of yourself and your mother.
Jesse

Thank you very much, Jesse. Unfortunately, Mom isn't Medicaid eligible at this time, and even if she were, it doesn't cover 24-hour care in New Jersey. But you are so kind and understanding, and I deeply appreciate your encouragement to keep praying and hoping for a better outcome, which I am doing. I won't give up. May God bless you, my friend.

Hi Mary Kay! I am praying for you and yours, I know how difficult life can get and how, sometimes, our faith can be tested to the absolute limits. I pray that your faith remains strong enough to carry you and your loved ones through to the other side of this valley. I too have suffered with health issues culminated with financial stress and family chaos. God gave me an answer and He will give one to you to - whatever it might be. Just give God the Glory and He will be faithful in His love for you.
Hugs and Blessings from my heart to yours
~ Christine ~

Thank you so much, Christine! All of this means a lot, coming from a fellow prayer warrior -- although I hesitate to call myself that, the way my prayers have been lately. I know, by the way you wrote your review, that you have a lot of understanding of what I'm going through, and of how these trials can really test our faith. Hugs and blessings to you too, my sister!
