I do not know which I like better your father's advice or your message one good turn deserves another. I find both clever and creative and your use of the necessary words with a good, and strong life lesson.
Best wishes,
Mary

Thanks Wendy. The poem came equal third with so many others I didn't even get the value of my entry fee back. I've noticed more and more contests have shared winners.

Excellent entry for the Use These Words writing prompt contest. A very sweet way to be respecting all sentient beings.

Good poem with a great presentation and imagery. It flows well with descriptive words that paint a clear poetic vision..

    Thanks for your review.
The quote you put by Atticus prompted me to research who Atticus was or is. I discovered he is a noteworthy contemporary Canadian poet. I live in New Zealand and hadn't heard of him (except Atticus Finch).

My grandson's name is Atticus too. :)

You did a great job of including all the necessary key words in this poem- it's impressive. I like the twist from move from the kids to the spider, it's nicely done. Thanks for sharing this

Thanks for sharing a poem that is strictly "use these words compliant" in tandem with the specifications of the writing prompt. More so, your work reminisces the ideals of the dictum: "one good turn deserves another."

The work highlights the protagonist's admonition of his son with an adage passed on to him by his father: "Live and let live - don't take but give...respect each life" and how the son approximated this adage by saving an endangered spider that later rid their home of untoward insects.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes synonymous with "one good turn having to deserve another."

Excellent work. Bravo.

This is so very delightful my friend! What wonderful words of wisdom that you took with you from childhood onward. I love the story of helping the spider.
Lol, wished I had known about that good deed, as we have to hire an exterminator every Fall. Delightful poem, perfect photo and awesome stories told while using the correct words.

Well, it doesn't work with me and roaches. I wonder why? Just kidding a little.

I think you did a good job of incorporating all the required words. The picture goes well with the poem. Good luck and best wishes.
