A nice tribute to the love that you and your husband have. I went to England quite a few years ago. The history there is amazing. Our history in New England has some age to it, but nothing like Old England.

There is a good feeling in your descriptive words. "The love we share is my delight" is a wonderful line that shows how love is the most important emotion in our lives. You have a smooth poetic form and a feeling of love is present in your words.

Janet Foor's poem, "Our Love," compares the satisfying memories of natural beauty that has disappeared to the beauties that have come and gone in a long love. Ms. Foor's diction is elegant and the functioning of her rhyme scheme is very good, although I think line 4 would be stronger as 'Until his meal is clasped and won,' or something without the awkward "has won" to fix the meter. I'd also prefer love poetry not to include references to God - it seems to me He gets way more credit than He's due already.

However, most of my poems will have a reference to my God, the creator of all as I don't think he ever can get enough of the credit he is due. Master planner, Creator, Savior and that's just for starter. We may have to agree to disagree. (smile)

What a lovely pen picture you have created of the Cornish countryside. It brought back memories, for I used to live in the South-West of England before migrating to Australia half a lifetime ago. I enjoyed the way you wove the metaphor into aspects of your life. Very nicely done.

Australia is on my list to visit as well. My grandson was there for two years and he loved the country and the people.
