No place should be safer than a school where young people learn the skills they will use in a better, more peaceful world. We always react in shock at the school shootings, which take place all too often.

I don't recognize this country from when I was a kid - this would have never been allowed to continue. I'll March this Saturday with the national March for Our Lives. We must make our voices heard.

Oh yes indeed, it seems that there's lots of solutions to end the deaths of children being shot in schools, but they won't tackle the obvious answer, which is to ban the guns, these are the weak shortcomings of democracy, rulership by a true the weak majority, beautifully written, blessings Roy

America has the worse gun control laws in the world. Hopefully this will change soon. Our split senate makes it hard to pass any laws, even the one as easy to remedy and needed asap!

Another fine poem, Gypsy---That was a great speech he made, yet some on the right said, "He's nothing but a Hollywood elite who should stay in his own lane," Screwed up nation when a guy from that town is told he has no right to speak about the killing.

You are right. Thank God for the ones who speak up about this imminent and needed issue... problem. Our children are dying! for god's sake! What else do the G.D. republicans want? Are you going to watch the January 6th trial? I'm not sure what it's called. I plan to check it out.

A very heartfelt and heartbreaking poem for a little girl who lived and loved life. I did see a 60-Minutes episode using a block of gel to show the damage a bullet from an AK-15 does compare to a regular bullet. The AK-15 bullet explodes within the body shattering organs and bone with little chance of survival.
How sad that we see that these guns have more of a right to exist than a little girl with dreams of growing up to become a marine biologist.

AK-15 should be banned. It's a rifle for soldiers to fight in a war, civilians don't need 100 bullets a minute up to 300 to reload. It destroyed the victims beyond recognition. It's crazy.

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the Uvalde school victims. The actor effectively used his bully pulpit to highlight this senseless killing. The image you selected is a heart wrenching reminder of the tragedy.

The AR-15, on the other hand, can fire 45 rounds per minute. Modified with a bump stock, it can fire 400 rounds per minute or more. We need gun laws. I don't know if our split senate will approve any gun laws. The Republicans have rich nra donors so they probably won't pass any substantial laws.
