An awesome poem with a great presentation and imagery. It flows well with beautifully descriptive words that paint a clear poetic vision.. I like the little farmer...so cute.

You have chosen a perfect picture and written very expressive words to describe it. Thank you for sharing the information about the little farmer boy. It is great to know that he will continue the work of generations in providing food for the world.

Thank you so much Anne for such kind and warm comments regarding my grandson. We are proud that his passion never failed him as he was growing up. He is only twelve now, but will still need assistance, but happy it will be his to leave to his grandkids someday.

He does make it a little more charming:-). It's a noble dream to walk in the shoes of your ancestors, and I wish this little guy luck.

Your poem reflects his dream beautifully.

Thank you for this charming short poem and the lovely photo, as well as the additional information about the farmer's boy. I know the grandpa is extremely important in the true story, but in the poem he appears to be a sudden addition and not blended well with the initial idea of the field of dreams for the little boy. Wish he were better integrated into the poem.

Hi Katie, I maybe should have checked this before I started writing this, but about a half hour ago I included grandpa in the poem. I hope that my edit came through. I better check, as I too felt the same way after thinking about it. Thank you for the lovely words and I best check on this.

There may well come a time when all men will need to know how to plant harvest and store grain for themselves. Stores and the money to purchase food may no longer exist. At that time those who lack the basic knowledge of how to plant, cultivate and harvest will go hungry.

Nomi you are absolutely right. I prayed it would never be in our children or grandchildren's generation, but as the president is out to make the youth of our country lazy by paying off the student loans and not have much to work for, like we took pride in what we did and got paid what owed. He would rather see us all having to be dependent on the government and so many people are too ignorant to realize that it is the plan for a socialistic nation. Just like all the other lefts who have no morals or scruples. This could have been preventable, as I believe covid made a lot of this worse, where nobody seems to want to work. I thank you my friend, and sorry if I sound a little angry but I worry about my grandkids in this world.

In the book of Isaiah, this very thing is prophesied. I am not positive, but I believe it is chapter 46. I may be mistaken, I am not that good at remembering certain things these days.

I am not sure either as I am guilty lately of not reading as much as I used to. However, I know that the facts that you speak of are true. Thank you my friend.

This is an excellent naani for the contest with very good use of alliteration in the "f" and "s" words.
It's nice to see farms passed down to new generations that appreciate their importance and understand the way nature works.
Great picture to match!
Well done.
Best wishes.

(one suggestion is to place a comma after "seeds")

Thanks Robert, I think you must have been reading while I was editing, but I do appreciate the feedback more than you know. I have never written a Nanni before and all it said was how many lines and syllables and about feelings, so I hope I am not barking up the wrong tree, (lol, you must forgive me, I have been writing a poem based on old quotes that we grew up with)
I thank you my friend for your awesome review and kind words.

This Naani was charming. It's even better because it's true. I love that he sees the soil, seeds, sun, and rain as his friends. Thanks for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Thanks Jessi, as I had no idea what a Nanni was or how to write one. I hope as long as the lines and syllables are right, it will be fine. You are so very kind my friend and I am so appreciative of your awesome review my friend.

This poem is so cheerful and optimistic :) . You have successfully combined two different genres (a Naani and a bucolic/pastoral) into one work.

Thanks Joanna, as always you are so very kind. You sure know your names of all the poem styles, as I have never written a Naani before. I guess the main thing is the syllable count and and amount of lines. I thank you my friend for the very lovely review and kind words.

I am unfamiliar with the Naani form for poems. So I am disadvantaged by my starting point. This four line poem with only two words of more than one syllable is graced with a beautiful picture of a young boy, tomorrow's farmer, standing in front of rows of a very plentiful crop (of perhaps soybeans?). At any rate, the pic helps the poem along, but the poem itself makes the projection of what this "Field of Dreams" will yield in response to nature's assistance, and the brute strength of the farmer's friend, the tractor.

Thanks Frank, as I always love to hear from you. This is my first attempt at a naani, so I am glad you aren't real familiar with them either. I don't feel like the Lone Ranger that way. I guess as long as we follow the count and lines, right? I thank you my friend for the very kind comments as that little boy is now starting to take care of the fields at 12 years old, of course under supervision by his grandpa. But we are so blessed to have a young one that has been learning the ropes since being a young child.
