Sounds like a wonderful relationship, a marriage based on love, friendship, communication, and most of all on God and His grace. Beautifully written. I like the repetition of the two key elements.

Thank you for this touching and very relevant (to all couples and life-style partners) poem. I enjoyed the repeats at the beginning and end of each stanza. These repeats tied the poem together, though it is mainly a list. But what a list! It contains a lifetime of touching and heartfelt moments.

You have described what friends do and share over the course of a lifetime. I like how you sandwiched each stanza starting with "Kisses and conversation" and ending with "And God's grace." It's a beautiful thing when friends/spouses grow old together and grow in hope of heaven together. And it's all due to His grace! Best wishes in the contest!

Beautifully written Verna, the best thing and the best place that we can be is in the manifest grace of God. There is nowhere else to be. You summed up life nicely in this verse. It isn't a bad life even though it has both up and downs. The verse and last lines of each verse tells us that we have family and friend and with God's grace we are able to survive.
