It seems Lombardi Time and my dad's time were the same. LOL These are all great ideas. I am under the impression that they are lost in today's society. It's sad.

People were concerned that we would not reach our fundraising goals. (you can omit 'that')

All of what you have written makes perfect sense to me. Your words speak of not only intelligence, but but experience that was used to learn the right approach to life and work. I read somewhere that 'life is work.' I have no argument with that. Over the years I have learned some valuable lessons. If you are able to get someone to hire you to do whatever you do to make a living, show your appreciation by doing the very best job you are capable of doing, and you will be rewarded. The reward may only be the satisfaction of knowing you have not cheated your employer and you have done the best job you could do. There can actually be no greater reward than that.

Good advice is never too late to share. You certainly hob-knobbed with influential people. Thanks for sharing with me, and I suggest you Facebook the message to the public... or not.

I love it. What a good sound list of traits and attitudes everyone needs to take with them into the working world.

A couple of suggestions:

Para 1, 7th sentence: "common sense" Should be "commonsense"

THE VALUE OF TIME
1st sentence: remove one extra space before "Time"

APPROACH A WORK TASK BY BEING SMART
Para 2, 1st sentence: "business people" should be "businesspeople"

BE PROUD OF WHAT YOU DO
Para 2, 2nd sentence: "brand new" should be "brand-new" (hyphen)

HAVE CLASS WITH YOUR ACTIONS
Para 4, 2nd sentence: Remove comma after "But"

Sorry, but I still had to review the article, even though you give me credit for spurring your thought process.

I think I liked this work so much because you had my name, right up there at the front of the article, giving me credit for starting your thinking process. LOL.

When you did start thinking, you came up with a very sound, experienced, list of things that everyone must consider.

As a side note, it seems you have led a very bright, eventful business life yourself. Many "names" dropped throughout this article. Your career must have been very exciting.

I love lists. This one is one of the best. It certainly earned one of my six-star ratings and not just because my name is right at the front. The content, your advice, is what takes home the six-stars.

Very good job Terry

Terry, you have met and either know or have known more well-known people than anyone I've ever met --I think. It's amazing to me how you experienced so many specific sessions with so many different leaders in so many different fields of life. That is a blessing and sharing the practical knowledge resulting from these associations serves as a solid foundation for this post.

Every item listed is important and knowing the circumstances supporting each item adds to its relevance -- as well as increasing the reader's interest in the next item.. Well done.

In my humble opinion, the most important thing you say in this post is "Time may be the most valuable thing you own". In my experience, there is no 'may be' about it. Time is the most valuable asset in life - business or otherwise. I'm not sure we own it? It could be just another area where we manage a resource toward producing a desired result during our tenure on this side.

Small Spag:.

helped start -- perhaps this should be 'helped to start'

football did not have the type of salaries they do today -- this sentence doesn't read correctly in my mind. Maybe it should say something like: 'football careers did not provide the type of salaries they do today.' I'm not completely certain as to how to best change sentence -- only the author knows that; but I do think it needs a little change.

Good work.

Thank you for the six stars!!! Your insight on time I think is right, I struggled with how to present that, and thanks for the edits. Terry.

Terry, this is a very well written article with plenty of solid, sound advice. I wish I could be early to every meeting - unfortunately, they seem to run into one another these days! Many thanks for the read.

Mike
