You truly are daddy's girl, Debi. I loved reading and learning
about your special bond with your dad. You did an awesome
job. There's smooth flow, great rhymes, and super details
which allow readers to visualize and feel like they are hearing
your share your story. The picture is perfect, too. Even though,
your dad has passed, he is watching over you from Heaven.
Look up and wave to him. He read your poem, and is/was so
proud of you.

A beautiful well written tribute to dad; I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I, too, am a daddy's girl. I remember standing on top of his feet as he slowly taught me the waltz. I'm fortunate that at age 66 and my dad is 99 1/2 - we can still play Euchre, sheepshead, and cribbage! He usually wins. Very well done. Congratulations!

I think my favorite part is that you two are a daddy's girl. How amazing that he is still with you and can still play the games, but I mostly relate to playing Euchre. My dad would have been ninety two. He died at 85 and I am 67 years old. A little older than you. You are so awesome and I thank you with all my heart my awesome friend.

I think that I am loving these reviews so much for all the women who can relate. Lol, thanks also for getting the part about my dad slipping with the pail, since nobody else seems to have picked up on that, However I wasn't sure about him that time as I learned a few new words that morning. : )

Thank you so much Margaret for your lovely review of my memories of my dad. You are always so sweet and I thank you for your kind words. And so very appreciative of your gracious six stars! I thank you from the bottom of my heart! .....I remember how we talked about loving how our dads laughed at those stupid shows on tv. And we both didn't sit there because we loved the show, but we loved to hear them laugh. However mine didn't laugh that morning that the pail went flying down the steps, in fact I learned a few new words that morning.
We were so poor back then that we didn't even have running water in the year 1962. In 63 we finally moved to our final home and stayed there, after moving 6 times before I was in the 3rd grade.We finally had the luxuries of water, indoor bathroom and even a bathtub. No longer seven kids having to bathe in the same water in a tank every Saturday night. I still have my fear of spiders but can catch frogs and snakes as well as any boy. Of course not any more! Thanks again my sweet friend for your awesome six star review!

I love that you too are a daddy's girl. I know you grew up in a different generation, but sitting on daddy's lap and his hugs and kiss were so special. I guess that doesn't matter what generation. But lol, you should have heard the words that came out of his mouth when that pail fell down the steps.

I enjoyed reading your story about you and your dad. I sucked my two fingers on my right hand. My dad was distant. He was always mad or found something to be mad at. I wish I had those memories you had. Thank you for sharing. I really like your picture.

Thanks Carolyn. As much as we had a great father daughter relationship, no life is without ups and downs. I hear stories like yours more often than not because that seemed to be such an old school type attitude. And Lol, I wasn't sure I wanted to go near my dad when he slipped and that pail went flying down the stairs. I learned a few new words that day. Haha! .....But thank you my dear friend for your lovely review and words as they are so appreciated!
