Argh! Out of sixes! How beautifully sophisticated to write an acrostic sonnet!

I think many will be hard pressed to outshine this beauty!

Hope I'm back to congratulate you on the win.

Yes, she does indeed look pensive - there's definitely something on her mind. You've put an imaginative interpretation to the picture, setting the scene well then introducing a shadow over the prettiness.

Hi, LIsa. Yes, I, too, thought Elaine looked pensive and I am very pleased you like my interpretation of the picture. Many thanks for sharing.

Lovely rhyming acrostic which is impressionistic as the painting. I thought she was happy with the line "Elaine exults in all she's seen." But there was a change in mood, perhaps because the ships far away. Perhaps she longs to travel or perhaps a beloved one is on one of those ships? I feel like the heroine grew from a girl to a young woman in the passage of these few lines. Hope your poem does well in the contest!

Hi, lyenochka, I really like your interpretation of my poem, that Elaine grew from a girl to a young woman. I would agree. Many thanks for your kind praise and best wishes.

This is a well done rhyming acrostic which seems to be ekphrastitcs. I assume that maybe this poppy field makes her mope because it may make her remember someone she lost in war.
This seems to be an Impressionistic painting.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Thank you so much, dragonpoet, for your praise of my ekphrastic acrostic. I don't know too much about the painter. This was painted at the close of Impressionism, but it certainly seems to show elements of that school.

This is a lovely poem with excellent imagery. The accompanying picture adds to the beauty of the poem. I agree with the poem that there's something soothing about flowers and an entrancing view.

I enjoyed this lovely poem. The author's words are peaceful, descriptive,
calming, nature based and creative. They had a way of showing me that one can find comfort in nature. The poem flows and connect well.
The artwork is awesome and compliments these words.

I like the picture. It is relaxing if one walks slowly through a field wild flowers.

The best way to do it is to close the eyes and breath in fresh air every now and then.

No matter how cruel life is, don't think about it,

Thanks for sharing

As I often walk in order to change my mood, this was totally relatable to me. And we have a name for the lady in the vale - Elaine. We mostly never know who the person in the poem is; for some reason having a name was very satisfying to me.

Beautifully written - I could see her, the flowers and the sea, the ships and beyond!

I think many people who enjoy walking through a natural setting can relate to Elaine's walk here. I love the name Elaine and it was easy to make her someone "real." Many thanks, Pam, for your high praise.
