Ha, very funny, Bill. Well, I guess you've got only six months to live, then why go out being the stick you were made to be. Giving life below while death chews down on you from above. Nature is wonderful.

I have never read many scripts until recently, thinking that without all the descriptive explanations, and being mostly dialog, I would stick with prose fiction. But your endless imagination overcomes the limitations. Thanks for sharing.

A clever idea, and very wittily written with plenty of humour in the word-plays. The walking stick probably does get his head bitten off at the end! Best wishes for the first date contest. You can be sure there will be no other similar entries! Lol.

Man, you know how to really stick it to your readers. This is quite a story. After I finished laughing my head off at the illustration of a walking stick. I was greatly amused and aroused by the clever story of the Praying Mantis and the Walking Stick. What a story.

Some think the story. Is unreali-stick.

Yeah, well what do they know?
Comment from lyenochka
Cute dialogue but I would think that the preying mantis and the walking stick would not canoodle as they are different species and the walking stick can reproduce parthenogenically. But who knows? Both Moot and WS could start something new. Best wishes in the contest!

They likely do not mate due to the *stick-ma*.

So it would seem he lost his head over her after all. A plot for an animated short. I like the punny dialogue.
Thanks for an interesting read. Good luck in the contest.

You are welcome.

Funny. I love adroit word play an this has it. The set up is perfect and the ending comment is, too. There's nothing like viewing life from the perspective of a different species.

This is an amusing account of a dangerous date. It just goes to show, you can never really change the fundamental character of a person, or even an insect. Kate xx

Some dates may be with destiny.
Comment from BethShelby
I don't think this first date is going to work out. I'd say the walking stick might better watch his language because this lady mantis regardless of her conversion has gotta eat and she's not fond of vegetables. Of course the fact he hasn't got a lot meat on his bones, might work to his advantage.
