I liked how the two stories connected, both thinking of each other all these years. Each had a tale all its own, especially Staci, more of her life, her thoughts, and the struggles of her marriage. Still, it was an enjoyable read.

Very enjoyable. Just a couple of things. Because of your sex (I guess) I ignored the picture and thought it was a gay story. Mostly you couldn't publish it with a picture so it could be a bit discombobulating for the reader if other people think the same way.
The remark 'it did end the evening' is apropos of what?' Not Staci as you go on about her.
The last paragraph seems a bit too clinically descriptive, what about something like; 'Now I'm married to a beautiful smart woman. We're still in love, quite rich and settled. Still on July 4th etc'

Thank you for the review and the thoughtful suggestions. It is not the story of a gay couple, but I could see how that might work, I will think about that for a future story, thanks for the idea.
"It did end the evening," When Larry ran out of money at the sports bar...the lady or ladies he trying to court, were no longer interested, so the evening was over.
I did not want to make Larry rich, but successful in life in comparison to the rather shallow Staci. That is my take on it, I have done only a couple of fiction so I am feeling my way around. I do very much appreciate your thoughts and time. Terry.

To me this is an inspiring romantic story. An affair that lasted a mere three days, but created a memory that survived for thirty years. Now that is one Hell of a powerful attraction. I wonder if they both lost their way somewhere? Or if I read my read wrong and in fact they did get back together after Staci's divorce - must go back and read it again to see if I can mould the words to fit this interpretation. Kate xx

I wonder if they both lost their way somewhere? You did an excellent job of tracing their lives, and caught me completely off guard when Kim interrupted Staci's seemingly perfect marriage. You had me so caught up that I silently cheered when karma struck Scott squarely between the eyes, as he and Kim split up and he lost both stores. I'm glad you didn't include any sort of reunion between Staci and Larry. It worked perfectly having their relationship live on only in memories that come up each July 4th.

I guess most all of us still has to look back every once in a while and wonder "What if." Although, I doubt that any of us are truly worried about the three day weekends of long ago. LOL. Thanks for sharing the fun read.
