Hi Bill,
Nice 5-7-5 for the 3-Line Poetry contest! Lots of gorgeous color here, and I like the idea of a congregation of butterflies, like they're off to church in Sunday best. They congregate.
I also like the alliteration of the first line with all the "w" words,
"winged wonders welcome"
and the short "e" sounds in your last line,
"better together"
I like the way you describe butterflies as "winged wonders"
Did I ever tell you about the time that my wife & I, and youngest son & daughter-in-law helped with the tagging and release of a monarch butterfly at Black Beach. What an experience! These butterflies fly right across the Gulf of Mexico non-stop.
Good Luck in the contest!
Cheers,
Kimbob

Thanks, Kimbob. I have a friend who did that as well, but from Michigan.

You win kudos for alliteration. Like the butterflies, words congregate together. Good choice of picture to support the crowded lines. Good luck in the contest.

I had to come and see the poem that inspired Dolly's sonnet! What a lovely alliterative three lines of wonder about that most ethereal of beauties, the butterfly! They've always seemed like winged earth angels to me...
Lovely!

That image is a wonderfully kaleidoscopic flutter of colour - I love purple. Your words are a delightful accompaniment (or vice versa). I enjoyed the alliteration and the concept that we should flock together. 'Congregations' implies a religious gathering - appropriate for the possible angelic symbolism of 'winged wonders'.

That picture is mesmerizing. I thought you might have used the group name for butterflies but that is "kaleidoscope." Congregation also works. Great last line. Best wishes in the contest!

Well, I've learned two things about butterflies today. I was informed that a group of butterflies was also called a flutter. We'll probably discover that the plural of butterflies is actually buttersfly. : )

Lol. I heard "flutter" is a group, too! There are more more ways to group those flutterbies...

But I thought your picture reminded me of a kaleidoscope.

The author's words are colorful, interesting, descriptive and creative. I really liked the color scheme and layout of these words especially because purple is my favorite color! The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome and compliments both the theme and words of this poem.

Nice alliteration. Well written three lined poem . They certainly make an interesting design when they are grouped together. A group of butterflies is called a flutter, a swarm or a wing. I think I like what you've called them best. A congregation.
