A beautifully written piece about a lovely part of North America, that we visited some years ago, these hills, valleys and mountains and full of fascinating flora and fauna, I like the rich and image generating language you used in this fine work, well done, good luck, blessings Roy

This free verse poem gives clear images of the sunrise after a stormy night. You can imagine the lightning across the sky. I had to look up the plants you mentioned to see the rainbow of colors you enjoy.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Author,
Your free form poem gives the reader a taste of life in Appalachia--its sounds and beautiful images.
I live within the Appalachian Mountains, and it is beautiful here too. Still, your place seems much more serene than mine here.
Great work.
Good luck in the contest.
Blessings,
Cindy

I have never been to Appalachia, but from the descriptive account of its flora and fauna viewed at early morning after a night time storm, I do believe that I would be somewhat impressed. Given that I am fond of viewing such.

Your words are descriptive of a beautiful place in nature
which you expertly wrote about. I enjoyed the internal
rhymes and the many examples which create great imagery.
I liked the contrast of the storm at night and the following
day that's alive with life.
Best wishes, Mystery Author, in the contest, Jan

I've never visited this part of the country, and now I don't have to go in person. You did a remarkable job of describing the beauty and wonder of living in the Appalachian mountains. Regards, Lilly

Nice free verse. You set the atmosphere immediately and build on that consistently with images and sensory clues. I'm there with you-- hearing the thunder, seeing the flashes of lightning, smelling the ozone in the air--and later, the fragrant whispers of the flora. On a deeper level, I'm reminded that we will have storms--and they will pass.

Nice! Karenina

The author's words are extremely descriptive, detailed, lovely and are
creative. Thank you for the author's notes - it is always great to know more about the poem. The author's words created a vision for me of the beauty of an Appalachian Day! The artwork goes well with these words.

I appreciate your comments about my work in addiction - thank you. Even though I had to be tough at times - I saw many addicts get through their addiction(s). I loved my work with
    addictions.

I liked a couple of things about the structure of this:

Repetitive words like flash-bang, yet another then another; also placing rhyming words close together like roiling and boiling. They add a kick to the imagery.

You have expressed what you see in a way that allows the reader to also see. It sounds absolutely lovely.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Living in the Catskills, an Appalachian offshoot, I can appreciate the images and sounds present in "Another Appalachian Day." The poem is rich in images and striking lines. I would change the first line to ' Breathing cacophony, thunder resounds.' This change would affect the flow; at any rate, this poem is exceptional in its selection of images, its depiction of sounds, its development, and its sinuous fluidity.

We've had a rain spring here in the Catskills, and it's been too cold to get my tomatoes and egg plants thriving as they should; hopefully July will turn that around. Be well! Frank
