Oh my sweet friend, thank you so very much. I am so sorry that I didn't respond earlier, but am going in for surgery this week, and have had many appointments and things going on first before I do. God isn't actually mentioned in the federal constitution, but I am sure many prayers were said asking the Lord for protection and guidance for the new nation... which led to its greatness. If God is truly on our side, we need to deserve His presence. America has accumulated much to be repentant about.

I know you are right LisaMay. I think I might have been thinking about the state constitutions and even the Declaration of Independence. All I know is that this was my first acrostic and I really wanted to make a point. That we've been telling God to get out and showing that the laws from the Bible have been forgotten and actually shoved right back in His face. Why wouldn't He leave us? I agree with you 100% about having to deserve it. I was so encouraged the other day when I heard of the overturning of Roe v Wade, only to hear our president promise to change the injustice decision and then our governor vowed to let anyone into our state to have an abortion. I just cried to see the heartless morals and values sink even lower. .... Sorry to keep going but it is heartbreaking! Thank you for you very sweet and kind words my dear friend!

Very well done acrostic and a great commentary. You followed the rules well except perhaps for your addendum. I don't know if anyone mentioned your extra phrase. I just consider it part of the poem.

Thanks Katie, actually this was my first acrostic, but my main reason for doing it was to make a statement. However that last phrase was just an extra long line. Lol! Who knows if it was ok to put that there but nobody said anything, as most were very kind like you my friend. I do appreciate your lovely review and words. Thanks again!

Talk about hitting this in the face. Nice work using the acrostic poem to say the truth. It bugs me when people say "God Bless America". We have not done anything to be blessed. We have to get back to the Founders' intention to make this country something that God will bless. Great use of words to meditate about. I really hope this wins the contest!

Our politicians have turned this country into a mess,every time they go against what the Bible says. We have to stop telling God to get out of everything. Why should he stay w such evil? Question: How can you speak of freedom for all while holding fellow humans in forced bondage? What protection could you put into place to guard against the sudden popularity of a snake oil salesman who would seduce a major section of the population into an actual uprising against that government? Our forefathers should be spinning in their graves right about now. By the way, your poem is lovely congratulations.

To tell you the truth Verna, this was the first one I ever tried, and wasn't even sure if I was doing it right. I was so delighted the other day when I heard that Roe v Wade had been overturned, just to hear the president promise to undo that horrific decision. Then our governor here in MN promised that people were welcome to come here to have their abortions because we will not withhold that injustice. Tell me Verna, is there no moral compass anywhere anymore? So that is when I decided to try the Acrostic poem and if nothing else, get my views out there. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart as I tear up every I think about how we keep telling God to get out, and now we are seeing the evil that the prophets spoke of. Thank you for your kind and lovely words and being such a Faithful servant to God. I am so proud to call you my dear friend!

We in NC have a Democratic governor, so, I feel sure we'll be abortion available. The way so many are carrying on, you would think abortions had been outlawed -period. I'm so glad God sees and knows the hearts of all! We have lived in Winston Salem in a retirement center in the independent section for 7 years (to be close to our kids (son and wife 10 minutes away, daughter and husband 50 minutes away). My husband had several strokes four years ago, and because of his worsening neuropathy, we gave our car to our son last month, who will take us wherever we need to go. We have, since Covid, been watching online the church in Charlotte we had joined in 1985. Our pastor is so good. While he said we should rejoice in the ruling, we should treat with love all who disagree with us. You're a wonderful witness for the Lord.
