Hello Jaybird1 a good day to you sir as always I hope this finds you well. Of course I enjoyed your work as I always do. I don't know if you keep up with the contest on here but this poem of yours would have been a good entry in one of the latest contest, uplifting poetry. Have a great day!

I loved this poem! It made me smile. It is good to read an optimistic and cheery poem in these uncertain times. The flow was nice and it was way to read. Great job

Hi my friend:
We all must face:
)life's highway,
one that's filled with storms and strife.(
I like your well-paced wisdom, and the kind and useful optimism in your line:
)A smile is better than a tear-
And makes much better things appear.(

I wish everyone would live by this poem. With the world the way it is we need more people to spread some kind of kindness. This is beautiful! Best, JohnC

I love your philosophy Jay. Uplifting, thoughtful and kind. If everyone let their smile be their umbrella-we would have a much better world.

Well done
Blessings
Janet

Hello, Jay.

This brought back huge smiles. This is one of the first songs I remember my dad singing to me...in the car, as we drove in an unexpected shower on our way to a picnic I feared was "washed out.'

Here is a link to Bing Crosby singing this, on YouTube, should you be interested in giving it a listen...

I'm sure he's looking down at me with a twinkle in his eye!

I like the pragmatic optomism of this sonnet. There is something so real and honest in the simplicity of the sentiment that is easily overlooked unless brought to our attention.

'A smile is better than a tear'who could possibly disagree with such an optimistic sentiment - this poem reminds us that life is truly beautiful despite the crises

So true. If people would smile and be kind to each other there would be so much more peace in the world. We have forgotten how to be kind to others I hope we remember soon.
