This poem is so sweet and cute, and I love the photo. With your rhythm and rhyme, your poem is as bouncy as the cat you're describing. I love how you made each line rhyme itself. Those mid-/end-line rhymes are wonderful. Good luck in the contest. This should be a paw-in. I'd say a shoe-in, but I doubt Lily wears shoes.

The only interest Lily has in shoes is to jam her head in them, sniffing, or to hide objects. She is a foot fetishist - I refuse to believe I have stinky feet.

Lily always sounds so cute, but mice in the shoes. Noooo! Cats are unpredictable, but a delight to have around. I enjoy reading stories and poetry about Lily and enjoy her letters. I look forward to what she does next.

She looks a really sweet thing you Lilly. I think I remember you saying she was quite young, not long out of kittenhood, so she has it all to come and all to enjoy. They are strange creatures, cats - so different from dogs and yet we love them both - I do anyway.
Is she going to become a literary cat like you?

I like the internal rhyme in this poem about your silly wild cat. It seems that maybe she wants to let you know she is doing her duty in keeping the house vermin free by putting the dead mice in your shoes. I had a cat who would not only bring mice home but pheasants too.
