Your poem contains the wisdom of life experience and observation. 'Love is a precious present one should carefully unwrap.' There is value in taking time to arrive at the good stuff. Your rhythm and rhyming is effective to carry your message.

Thank you for your lovely review. I'll admit love at first sight works occasionally. I think when it does there is some divine intervention at play. I'm happy it worked for you.

a powerful poem about waiting for love to develop and avoiding the trap of love at first sight infatuation. I disagree though. I met my wife after dreaming of meeting her for eight years. When we finally met, I proposed three days later, married her two months later and we are celebrating our 40th year together (or 48 if you count the dream time).

I don't know if you're a man of faith or not, but if she'd been revealed to you in a dream and when you saw her you recognized her as the one from you dream, then that is a different scenario. We'll count the dream time for you. She just got lucky and met someone who already knew her. Most people don't have that kind of preview. Thank you for a great review on my poem.

It is good to be aware of the fact that love at first sight is a myth and when we find out what a person is really like, we have a different opinion. I met a guy once who I really liked and everything seemed perfect. On the second date he said to me, "what until you find out what I'm really like". I laughed it off but I found out the truth and it was ugly and the relationship soon ended. Wise advice in your poem here Beth, I could identify with your words, I loved your rhymes and sentiments, love Dolly x

Thank you Dolly for the nice review and comments. I've heard a lot of horror stories about people who marry quickly without really getting to know someone. Some guys can be extremely charming for a month or so, but the honeymoon ends almost before it begins.

Thank you Ulla. You're better off than most if you had that many years of happy marriage each time. If you broke his heart in the end, maybe he was the one that needed my advice. LOL Just kidding.

They both remarried and happily so. We've remained friends and their wives have become friends as well. It's ideal. I now live on my own in my own house with my dog and cat and I couldn't be happier. I'm also starting to travel again, planning going to the US visiting my brother and family in September. :)))

This sounds really good Ulla. I'm enjoying being alone too. I had a great marriage but this is first time I've got a change to be all on my own. Travel as long as you can. I got to do some traveling a while back but my knees make traveling harder now for long trips.

Now days, young people sadly mistake lust for love and tend to be looking in all the wrong places without a clue what they are looking for. Me, I just keep to myself, happy for past experiences, and unwilling or interested in trying again. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank Ric. I took it slow and had a good run, but still I married young and never had a chance to be all on my own. I kind the freedom. Don't plan to rock the boat.
