Hi, Melissa. I am so pleased you enjoyed my poem and the artwork. Bierstadt?s paintings are awe-inspiring. Years ago I saw several up close in an exhibit in Chicago and had to return to the gallery several times.

You do a stunning job of conveying the imagery of the painted scene by immersing us in it with you. I love your perfectly chosen descriptive phrases (especially the straight-spined fir). I'm glad I stumbled across your poem :-)

idk. Noblesse? A word in french meaning aristocratic. seemingly our of place on a placid lake. And I guess naming where your at is fine though most readers wouldn't know. Is the picture of named lake? Good luck.

Thank you, Tom, for reviewing and your comments. This could be one of the lakes in the Sierra Nevadas Bierstadt painted. I could not find a name though he titled most.
