This story, Creation, gives the readers another slant on God's processes of peopling a "globe" with our slithering ancestors.
"...grinning from his lower mandible." There's a picture.

Enjoyed your creativity here. My favorite part is your description of the creatures' features such as " long twig-like appendages" and the second head to grow in another two years - however long that might be in their world. And how can we ignore the 42 from Hitchhiker's Guide?
Best wishes in the contest!

Good luck wishes regarding the contest, G. I loved the picture because it reminded me of the big bang theory, such an explosive creation. I have to admit that this short story was creative but very in depth in its meaning. Very well done and very much enjoyed.

Hi Gareth, you've done it again. You've told the creation of the universe in merely 250 words. But you still leave us with a little twist, that makes us wonder what we really read. Good luck in the contest. Ulla,:)))

We never know what's going on right before our very eyes. And it isn't even magic . . . well, maybe it is, sort of. Thanks for sharing, it's always a pleasure.

I always love creation reinvented. And you've done a superb job of this one G, these beings sound ant like, so, the next question is, why didn't they create Adum and Evf in their image? Beautifully written, blessings Roy

I enjoyed this wonderful Sci-Fi short form fiction. The characters are perfect and the ending is superb. I found a couple of minor edit suggestions.

. "shook his larger head." I first thought that this simply meant that the father's head was larger than the son's. Then later, with new information, I thought it might mean that the "larger head" was the larger of his two heads. Which is it in your mind? Should it be clarified?
. "As he began to crew (screw) the panel back into place,"

Very clever and interesting flash, here. An entire story neatly tucked into 250 words. Sci-fi is often over my head, but there is such a thread of humanity here, and the biblical nod, that I really immersed myself between your lines! "Adum and Evf." You got me!

I love sci-fi. Hard sci-fi which relies on a lot of technical stuff can be very demanding. I prefer the ideas approach. lol G

Lol, that is just what I'd expect from you! This is brilliant. And love the 42 from the 'galaxy' to the meaning of life, and everything else, but you've a slight twist in yours. So, we were made from 2 headed master beings still trying to get it right! The parting shot, 'be good' Lol, as if!! Well done, this is a great story about how our unique beginnings began with just the 250 words. Good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Okay, now this could be the prototype for writing flash fiction, with the plot beginning very near the climax, and the bare nudge of a twist at the end, that, rather than dish out the meaning to the reader, points the direction for his finding it. Well done, my friend!

By the way ... I meant to ask before I closed this out, whether "crew" is a Welsh invention or did you mean "screw"?
