Your title says it all. You don't mince words stating the realties of getting old: You can't taste, move, or hear and many of your friends and family are dead. I will be 80 in two days and don't see much to look forward to. Rod

This poem, Getting Old is Getting Old, has a laughable/cry-able sense about it. I suppose it may depend on how close the reader is to the losses incurred as we age. Getting older has its challenges, but death offers only mysteries.
