So, so beautiful; your choice of the pale green background made the little yellow flower really pop out.
I like that you centered your poem.
I also like 'conspicuous' and 'encroaching' - makes me want to warn the little flower that the leaves will soon take it over.

Thank you, C. Gale, for your kind praise of my shortie. If the country?s flag were green (not blue) and yellow, I would have titled my poem UKRAINE.

Ciao mystery poet, you have your first vote!
I have always been happy to standing in the shadows, to blend in so unlike my mother who was definitely one that stood out from the crowd.
Along with her enchanting looks , she was intelligent and witty and talented ( dancer and painter and sculptor)
And she was one that thought out of the box.

You have used this picture most effectively as a metaphor for hope against the odds. It might very well suggest the current war in Ukraine or any number of lesser circumstances.
