I do not know how extensive your Bible knowledge is, but the Bible does speak of a future where the problems we face today and have faced for some time, will be eliminated for all time. People will have bodies that are impervious to pain or physical harm. The book of Isiah is filled with some of these amazing prophesies. As a result of being reminded of this, I am going to reread those chapters very soon. They are very refreshing to read and encouraging especially in these trying times.

I have associated Star Trek with Walt Whitman's projection of the future of mankind. He saw democracy as the ultimate religion, making people the God we need. I wrote my thesis on it.

I respect your effort. Very good.

LOL. Yes, those five years sure expanded into many, and those of us young fans aged right along with it. Then, William Shatner who owned a farm just up the road from me started running into the each other regularly at the airport. I never watched another episode. Shatner was asked by airport management to find another airport to fly in and out of if he couldn't be nicer. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Never meet your heroes or the people who play them on television. I met Mr. Magic when I was a kid, only to realize he was the weatherman on Channel 5. I was seven-year-old shattered.

LOL. Isn't it the truth. It's happened to be a few times.

Yes, I used to be a great fan of this show, with the beam me up concept. I always wondered how their parts (or molecules as I grew more informed) avoided getting mixed up during transfer. However, sadly I feel it has outgrown its value. NOw Dr Who... that's another story. Kate xx

I began watching Dr. Who in the Tom Baker years. I was hooked when I saw the first regeneration into Peter Davison. Its being on PBS and broken into five episodes made it hard to keep up with.

Thanks for taking us down to Memory Lane. I don't really remember Lassie but I thought it was in black and white. But then again, we may not have had a color TV. In fact, I didn't see my first one until I was six and came to the US!

My father never owned a color TV until he retired in 1973 and moved to Florida. It was all they sold, but all his thirties' movies and the news were still in black and white.

You caught the flavor of the first viewing of a color t.v. And yes the colors were almost too bright in the beginning.
The pace is good. The images clear. The language is warm. The recollection of a long run of the series is unbelievable even to us who observed it.
Thanks for a good read.

Today we are in a mix of Star Wars and Twilight Zone. A terrible combination. We thought we had it bad in black and white colors. Here we are in living colors facing doom. Man can not get alone. There are people or countries wanting everything for themselves. Why? I have no answer. It takes team work to make things flow in the right direction.
You have written a great story. Have a great weekend. And 4th.

Is Star Trek still running? I saw a couple of movies and they seem to be fun. It only takes about 9 months to arrive at Mars, but only at certain time so you be able to land at the point of the orbit that is closet to Mars. Want to go? I wouldn't. If it is like Hawaii, I would.
Well done.
