It had been a few days and I hadn't seen a post from you, so I checked up to find that I don't get notified when you post to a prompt or a contest. Thanks for sharing.

Hi! good to hear from you. Yes, if it's Blind Entry, you won't know who's posting. But, I want to tell you that I am working my nerve up to post something in the next few days for the 250-word contest. That will be my most significant move yet.

Thanks so much for the review. I appreciate it.

Hello Leather a Good day to you, I hope this finds you well. I liked your 5-7-5 Poem prompt entry, you executed it well on the syllable count. Good job and good luck in the contest.

I looked the flower up on the internet. And it looks like the beak of the parrot. I am learning many new things on this site. I never knew the flower existed. Thank you for sharing. The picture is nice. I like the colors. Have a great day.

Thank you so much for your review. You are the fourth reviewer who has googled this flower. I, too. have learned a lot from and about other people on this site--that's a neat extra benefit. Have a great day.

Thanks, Raul1, for your review and comments. I'm glad you didn't find any mistakes--I dislike those things, especially when they are discovered after the fact.

a great haiku like poem about a parrot and its deadly little beaks. I like the image and I like the word play very appropriate in a haiku which in mind works best with short sudden changes of mood in the last line.

Thanks for your review, all the stars, and the compliments. Yes, I have been trying more haiku, and I think it is rubbing off on everything I do now.

Hah. ha, you are correct the petals look mean. This is a colorful, cleverly written poem. I like the large, centered font. It all works well together. If I suggested anything it would be to make the word beak begin with a lowercase letter. That way the capitalized MEAN has more punch. Well-done!

I have made that change and given you credit in the note section.

    Thanks for your review.

There is no need to give me credit on your poem. Just nominate me as a reviewer or read one of my poems in my portfolio. I respectfully ask you to remove it. It does look good.

Great use of color in your poem. But I looked up the flower and it doesn't look very mean. It's more like tongues of fire. Enjoyed your rhymes. Best wishes in the contest!

Interesting entry for the 5-7-5 A Flower writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. I like the parrot but the contest is to write about a flower. Good luck in the contest.

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you like the parrot. Just to clear up any confusion, I included a note saying FanArt did not have a picture of The Parrot's Beak Flower, but I was using a picture of a parrot because the beak is the same shape as the flower. The writing is about a flower--a rather rare one. Apparently, confusion still exists. I may have been better off not using any kind of picture.

Oh! Okay, I didn't see that. Here is a cool picture of the flower. The picture of the bird is confusing not everyone reads the author notes.

I appreciate you getting back to me. Yes, that is a cool picture. I don't know which images can or can't be used because of copywriter issues, and I need to learn how to transport or import them. Until I get those things down pat, I will be cautious about adding notes. Thank you.

I got the picture from Google public domain, o copy right. If you want to use the picture... copy the link I gave you and past it to your computer browser, enter and download your computer, from there you upload the picture to fansto r y the same way you did with the parrot...it's up to you.

I want to do this when my son, the computer wizard, is around as I get gorked out if I have problems on my own.

I am totally unfamiliar with this flower, but I looked it up and indeed, though the flower is beautiful, the petals do look threatening and ominous. Thaks for the introduction.

Good job

Thanks so much for the review. You are the fourth person to look up this flower.
reply by GARY MACLEAN on 06-Jul-2022
Well, you must be quite the botanist then. Is that the right word? This flower seems to be common to you.
reply by the author on 06-Jul-2022
Yes, that's the right word-botanist. I wish I could claim that title, but I can't. I just didn't want to write about a common flower, like a rose or daisy, so I looked up rare flowers. I've never seen a live parrot's beak flower. I guess I'm more of a goggler than a botanist.

This flower 5-7-5, Parrot's Beak Flower, has the right setup and seemingly reminds the observer of the big bird who wants a cracker.

Thanks for the review. Perhaps, it should be renamed 'Polly Want'n a Cracker.'
