This was quite the interesting piece of poetry. Lots going on.
I am going to spend the evening reading some of your older works. If I find any that need a review to boost them to reward status, I will make that happen. Here is number twenty-six, my friend!

Thank you, Charlie! I tend to write on the dark side, but my work will never surface unless satan is beaten in the end! Thank you for going back to read this one; it is one of my favorites.

I like this journey through the dark times and the somewhat unwillingness to see the light and the message that no matter what God will always be near, an excellent read****kahpot

Thank you, my friend, for the great review. I don't write much poetry but rather use it as a release. It works. :)

Good verse, and a great story!
Many of us have traveled that road you described, disillusioned, bitter at a world that took away our dreams and gave us in return a handful of dogshit.
Finally found the right Pastor in the right church who says the right things that I can understand.
Yes, God loves us in spite of...
Good work,

"To every man there opens a highway and a low, each man decides which way his soul shall go." Religion has been made into a sideshow for happy-clap so-called churches reaping in money from those sucked in. My cathedral is my garden and my teachers are the wild birds. God calls to us through nature - just respond. K xx

Hi John, you are like me or I am like you which ever way you look at it. I dabble into poetry very occasionally. Hardly ever, to tell the truth.
I liked your poem by and I enjoyed reading it. A very valiant piece of writing. Ulla:)))

I will admit I did not understand every twist and turn of this poem but that only added to the journey you detail, because you did not understand everything either. It is valuable to me to read poetry that is transparent and raw and real, like yours. It does not have to be all nice and neat, though I tend to write that way. What you are writing is much harder, I think! You ARE definitely adored and have been since God made you:)
Keep up the good writing!

Thank you, Tina, for an excellent review. I am far from a poet as I can't keep track of all the different forms, rules, and regs. However, I use it to vent and pride myself on getting a feeling across when I do write that rare piece. Your review was intriguing and prompted me to visit your work. Pretty Kitty is ingenious. A refreshing piece of self-originality, one can sense when there is a love for the craft. Thank you, for reading my piece.

Thank YOU for such a genuine note back to me. I do love kids poetry and have thought I may focus on it for awhile, maybe compile a book. Kids need good poems. Thank you for the compliment about the Pretty Kitty. It was tough but fun. Glad you could tell I loved crafting it.
Have yourself a good evening,
Tina

I think being spiritual is more important than being religious. As long as you feel connected to God and are a good person, that's what counts.
Regarding your poem, I write simple verses and struggle trying to understand poems that use too many metaphors. I don't know who your idles are, but I certainly think this work is praise worthy. I understood your message and that's what I like. Regards, Lilly

Hello John a good day to you. I hope this finds you well. I enjoyed your poem told a story with some nice rhymes. Each of us have to go our own way and discover things for ourselves after my 46 years I can say I'm definitely not religious, I consider myself spiritual. Why? To me Religions, like political parties just divide people, however no matter what religion one may choose to believe or not too believe. I think most of us can agree that we all have spirits.

You did a great job, John, with your poem about your journey from
non-believer to an experience that may have changed your life
forever. Your words were well thought out, the flow is smooth,
there's good imagery, and you gave readers a glimpse of your
feelings, as they relate to your faith/lack of change/change of.
Thanks for sharing, Jan
