That was a wonderful autobiography. It played with me emotionally. I am sorry for your sad milestones. I am 49 and not yet married with children. At least, you have loved ones and pets with you. Let us be grateful for life. Stay safe and strong. Nice work :)

Thank you. Without my family I would not have made it. I'm fine now and enjoying my senior years. Hugs.

That was so entertaining, both funny and sad but always honest. You look incredible for 76. What's your secret. You should write more, you have an easy way with words that I really do enjoy.

Thank you. That picture was taken in the late 1900s. I don't have any recent pictures of myself. I still look pretty much the same, tough. Hugs

You have had a life of twists and turns like most of us. Your descriptions were clearly presented. The font size is great for my aging eyes. I'm sorry about your heart attack and the passing of your sons. Somehow, you keep moving forward, so you have grit. It was a well-presented story. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. I agree with you. Some of the writings with small font are very difficult to read. Sometimes I skip them because of that. Hugs

I'm so sorry you lost your two sons, that was a tragedy, and must have been so hard for you. And then your husband was crippled by a bull. Another sad event.
You've certainly lived a full, and busy life one on the farm. And a cat lover! I love cat lovers!! It was nice getting to know you. Good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Good bio!
I found it refreshing, how honest you were about yourself.
Remarkable, how your hair does not turn gray, what nationality is your family?
I am French-German on my dad's side, and Irish on my Mom's. I started losing my hair at 30-some and graying at the same time.
86 this month and in great health, wife feeds me healthy and I work in the yard and garden almost every day, Ride an exercise bike for 30 minutes in the morning. Yeah, a little overweight, 11 pounds, 176, and should be 165.
I retired at 84, wife still works part-time as a pharmacist tech.
Enjoyed your story!

Thank you. I enjoy meeting all the interesitng folks on this site. My dad was German and my mother was Irish and English. I don'tknow where we got the no gray hair thing from. It isn't true for all of us. My next older brother had gray hair when he was in his forties. My oldest sister died in 2020 at age 92 and she still had black hair. Hugs.

This is a very well written piece and a lot of it I thought, this is me apart from the cat thing. I am a dog person all the way lol. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing. Have a great weekend.

prettybluebirds,
Cats and quirks, along with a wrinkle here and there, and not forgetting your dog, are all part of you, your story and life. I think those years of 'milking, herding, feeding, and talking to cows' are a very special experience because being close to animals and nature is very rewarding in many ways. Your lovely sense of humor and 'never say die' kind of attitude have been your strength through all of life's ups and downs.
Well done to a young 76 year old.

Thank you. There have been animals in my life from the day I was born. I seem to relate to them on a, were all one basis. In one of the earliest family pictures, I'm sitting on the ground with my arm around the family dog, Old Beauty.

Just letting you know that I do not need a photo of you to 'see you'. Your little bio-essay shows your heart, humor, and kind spirit. I enjoy reading your post again and again. It has a soothing, yet matter-of-fact tone.

Thank you for this post. I will be 70 in November if God wishes me to see the day.

Thank you. A positive attitude is necessary for a long and happy life. If you only look at the bad, bad is all you will ever receive. Hugs

Let's see, how would I describe myself?...I am a ginger, increasingly white in fact, middle -aged man with numerous joint pains. I love books, my wife, my border-collie Meg and food in that order. I loved this write it was funny it was honest it was actually sublime! You will and should do brilliantly in this competition I think you have done a superb job. Kindest regards and good luck Kevin :0

Thank you. The story is true, but of course, there is a lot unsaid between the lines. Telling a life story in 500 words or less leaves a lot of story not told. Hugs
