This is another very amusing chapter, Mike. I love the way you do your summary at the beginning, using the obvious Irish accent, before jumping back into the story. I look forward to reading the continuation.

Thank you, Judy :-). I was really please with how the introductions have worked, and they give me a chance to speak from the other characters' PoVs whilst still sticking to Roz's for the actual story.

I can't imagine the people behind them have gone too far. I hope this lot can figure out how to fix a wheel. They seem to have a shortage of axes and friendly trolls.

I'm guessing the food wasn't very good but did they have money to pay the very bored waitress?
I enjoyed the changing wheel instruction flyer which turned out to be like an IKEA sheet of instructions, or insurance information company's information which here has to be in several dozen languages...Lol.

Thank you :-). I couldn't resist poking fun at those instructions in about a hundred languages, and plumbing terminology with the 'offer the pipe to the fitting' stuff.

I'm one of those who believes much differently than most are taught. Stories are about characters, and plots are only what characters do in the story. And I must say, you've put together a captivating crew. Thanks for sharing. Wish I had a six.

Thanks so much, Ric :-). I tend to agree - I like to drop my characters into situations, sit back, and see what happens! I only sketch out plot elements when I'm about two thirds of the way through a book and need to figure out how to pull all the threads together.

I continue to be be enthused by those unearthly characters, (at least some) I've always loved escapism, I love happy ending, but don't mind the unhuman copping it. That's why I love sci-fantasy, it's a true diversion and am escape from macabre humanity, well done Mike. The mind boggles at a breakfast scene, Blessings Roy

Once again, I enjoyed reading. I can understand their issues with the instructions. I have actually read instructions that were supposed to be in English. I honestly don't believe they were. LOL This is really fun to read.

Thank you, Barbara :-). I couldn't resist a little poke at those unwieldy instruction manuals!

I can't even begin to think what you're like in company after a couple of drinks! This story is really good, funny, and has so many imaginative images in it, even though it's supposed to be serious. (At least, I think it is!) Okay, we've had a really nasty breakfast to set us up for the day, we've had Lindon go walk about leaving his smelly bottom behind, and discovered they aren't being followed. And now, at last, we have found the intruction manual to get the wagon on the road again. Onward and upward, what will go wrong next? Loving this, Mike! :)) Sandra xxx

Thanks so much, Sandra :-). The lovely words from you and a few others are what keep me moving forward. I know that sounds needy, but it's the right word - I need a bit of that positive reinfoecement!

Your story is so refreshingly different in all aspects, and when they are published, your books will grace my shelves. It's the type of story you can read again and again and find something different each time. Apart from that, I really love your characters! Keep going, you really have a winner here. xx

I love the humor throughout the story. It is so much better than some of the dry humorless stuff I read on here. You are a writer after my own heart. I love to interject humor into stories whenever I can. Nicely done.

Thank you :-). I find it difficult to write without at least a little fun included - especially when it's fantasy or similar. For the same reason, I can't enjoy excruciatingly earnest comic book movies - if something's inherently ridiculous, it needs to accept that and be fun!

As always, this is a truly great book that I enjoy very much. You have definitively converted me to at least some selective fantasy. It's so good I don't really have any constructive criticism. It's already well-constructed enough. And as for which bit I liked best - all of it! Kate xx

Thank you, Kate :-). For me, it's comedy before it's Fantasy, and everything else is in service to the humour. I'm so glad you're still enjoying it!

Great chapter, Mike. The waitress scene is hysterical! I laughed out loud when you referenced her attire."She looked like a snowman with stab wounds." Ha! Brilliant. I'm going to use that on someone, somewhere. Great work, my friend. :)
