This is a really sad and telling poem. It's frustrating that any small child would be taught (or think or whatever) that the world might be so against her before she's really even begun.
That has to mean growing up in a scary world fraught with dangers on all sides. And that's at the age of TWELVE!! Bless your heart!
I'm sending you hugs - just as a mom. I hate that you ever spent one moment fretting over these kinds of BIG THOUGHTS. They are far too large for small shoulders.
