Fascinating! I'm so glad you survived all that. My experience was as nearly as profound as yours. In 1963, after a difficult delivery, my BP bottomed out. I remember watching from over the table while the nurses and doctors worked and shouted my name. I never got to the light that I remember, but I've always been so convinced of Heaven, I wonder if I saw more than I remember. Good luck in the contest.

Oh my goodness! Your story is six-worthy but I have none. My favorite part is that you saw all your loved ones including your "hawk." That's beautiful. And because you are a nurse and know everything the nurses and docs were doing, you could calmly observe and understand what they did. But why did your uncle knock you out? He wasn't your legal guardian? This is the uncle whose circus you worked in?
I hope this does well in the contest! You speak from experience not theory!

It seems that many people have technicality died, seen wondrous things, even watched medics working to recover patients who were certifiably dead, but after that experience were able to testify of these wonders. Thank you Alie for sharing yours, beautifully written my friend, blessings Roy

What an interesting read... While many refuse to believe in these NDEs, I've had them as well. I do not doubt your account for one moment. It's intrigued me when little children, who have no concept of what's been reported--as well as people from diverse cultures, whose experiences might be expected to differ, more often than not have similar essential similarities: The feeling of lifting out of their bodies, The sense they are viewing what is happening from an external vantage point, white light and/or reunion with those who have passed away...
I'm a retired RN and so I am certain you have listened to similar accounts from those who have been resuscitated...
This life is not all there is. I'm one hundred percent in agreement with you~
