Title grabbed attention. Some things noted:
-Most animals, even ones with stubborn streaks, can, with proper training, be taught to do what a person wants them to do.
-Interesting training method to have horses get familiar with unknown objects. Seems a good way for them to gain confidence.
-Pissing an animal off not necessarily the best method to win their cooperation though.
-John Lyons favors the operant conditioning method, controlled by external stimulus, to train horses. He has done so many years, and written several books on the topic.
Good read.

Thank you. April turned out to be a good horse, but she always did need an experienced rider. The John Lyons training is about gaining trust and becoming the alpha horse. It worked great. Hugs

Thank you for reading, and thanks for the six stars. I don't have horses now, but I owned many of them in past years. I used to buy abused horses, restore them to health, and find homes for them. Hugs

Thank you. Yep, horses have strange names at time. April was born in April, she was pretty, and therefore she was a pretty April baby. Pretty normal for horse folks. Hugs

There is no man more blind than the one who will not see, no deafer a man than the one who will not listen, etc. etc. Once you agree to being taught, not even the sky is the any longer the limit.

Thank you. April showed me I wasn't as bright as I thought I was. She was completely different and capable of hurting someone if she wasn't handled right. It was a lesson I needed to learn. Hugs.

You discovered an interesting way to train a horse. I rode horses a lot as a teenager, but only trained one, a biter, thanks to a bolt of lightning. Thankfully, I never meet a horse with April's attitude, but she was a beautiful horse. You wrote this very well and made it quite interesting.

Thank you. I had horses for many years and still love them. I was not as experienced as many trainers but sometimes took on a horse to train. I'm too old for that stuff now. Hugs
