I've been here nearly 12 years, and I'm still addicted, so don't plan on leaving anytime soon, you'll be here for the next century, at least! I had never written a story until I'd been here a couple of years, poetry was my thing. I still write children's poems from time to time. I've learned so much since joining FS, and made so many wonderful friends. This is a family, and we take care of each other. I love your writing, and this piece. Well done!! :)) Sandra xx

About a week into my FanStory membership, I told my husband, "I've found my new obsession. Before FS, I wrote a couple stories a year. Since I joined in March I've posted a few dozen stories and poems. And I also submit stories to many other contests and online magazines.
If nothing else, being here has motivated me to write more. And I learn how to write better through classes at the local college. I say you, me, and everyone on FS are, or can become, better at what they love by being here.
But the reviewing in exchange for member dollars becomes a part time job:-(

I hear you on the Grammarly thing. It's not the genie in the bottle, but it helps those of us (me) who are grammatically challenged!
Now if I could just get that "evil eddie" to stop inserting alien characters into my posts...
Also, can we find a way to disable autocorrect? When I mean to write Elvis Presley and it comes out Elvis Pretzel it kind of loses something in the translation... (Plus, it triggers another addiction- to snack!)
I'm glad you realize there is no leaving the site. You have fans galore now...and each of us is like your personal "sponsor."
If you even THINK about giving up, we're going to get on you like white on rice!
Why?
Because we're all learning alongside of you...and you make us smile as we grow!

Terry it is SO true! Im.addicted to this site. I even asked my sister if it was okay that i wrote EVERY day. She said NO! She is addicted to running. So then i wrote a poem about her called " The Marathon" lol. I cannot STOP

Lucky you, Terry. I have never received that much help from my reviewers. I have never even been reviewed by some of them although I review them faithfully. I must be beyond help. However, I had two teachers in the past who faithfully helped me improve my efforts. That was Adewpearl and Phyllis Stewart. FS is a wonderful place to learn and yes it is very addictive.

Lucky you, Terry. I have never received that much help from my reviewers. I have never even been reviewed by some of them although I review them faithfully. I must be beyond help. I was like you in the beginning and I still make many mistakes but my writing has improved slowly over ten years of teaching. Hang in there. It's a great site. People come and go but serious writers stick to it. LOL Nancy:)
