What a wonderful tanka, Gypsy. I really enjoyed the wording of your tanka. It brought together your thoughts from the first line of your narrative notes. It is truly a possibility to feel lost in a crowd. I enjoyed the concept of the picture of the boat and all those fireflies and then of course the firefly at the end of your tanka. Blessed be n hugs!

your notes, and poem by Faraaz Kazi are exquisite... so to top them would take some doing.
Okay, you hit on my favorite colour and when I read beauty within words and they connect to me personally, it's like the poem was written for and to me. That in itself is the aim of every great writer... to bond to one's audience individually, as if it was them you are speaking to.
A truly beautifully composed and presented Tanka.

I am not sure about the "tug and pull" but the "lonely firefly" "amidst a myriad of lights" resonates with me. I definitely feel more lonely in a crowd and don't like large parties. Lovely presentation!
