Hello Sugarray77 a terrific Tuesday to you. I hope this finds you well. Congrats on your 1000th post, what an achievement! Think I'm close to 300 probably be a distant memory before I ever reach a 1000. Nice Haiku too!

Thank you so very much. I love waterfalls and can always be inspired by their movement and sounds. So glad you liked this one!! I didn't know it was going to be my 1000 post, or I might have tried for something a bit longer. LOL. Thanks again.

Yes, this is an excellent way to describe the sound a waterfall makes! Cascading thunder describes sailing over the edge with the sound of loud thunder as it goes over the top of the river. I love waterfalls! They are mesmerizing and captivating in their roaring sounds and yes, it sounds quite like thunder!
The picture captures the essence of the great waterfalls as well!
Thanks for sharing the haiku with us.
Jesse

Congratulations on your 1000th post!!
That is an incredible achievement, you should be so proud.
I just joined in Feb. of this year, this number of posts seems unattainable but inspiration as well.
This haiku is eloquently written.
You have captured the essence of the haiku poetry form in the most intriguing way. The words you have so carefully chosen move with ease like a silky ribbon waving in the breeze.
Congrats again and thanks for sharing.

I like the simile, the sound of waterfall -> song of water. Of course, you use "Cascading Thunder" instead of waterfall. So there isn't repetition. I always learn something from reading your poem.

Well done.

Congratulations on your milestone post, Melissa.

This is a fine modern haiku with the satori line likening the thunder of a waterfall to its song.

Very atmospheric read today. :))

Congrats on your 1,000 post Melissa!

The sound/song(!!!) of falls is truly mesmerizing even if I imagine the same through your verse (-; Good choice of illustration to pair with the same.

This definitely catches the spirit of Haiku. Do you feel any similarity between this form and that of the daina?

The obvious difference between them is the concern of the dainas for the place of the peasant farmer which is completely absent in the Japanese but the condensed nature of such philosophy as is expressedis the same in both forms.

Thanks so much Jim. I can see the similarities between haiku and Dainas.
