What an amazing story of survival. Your ancestor did not perish as she had work to do in this world before retiring to a peaceful spot underground to await the great and promised resurrection. You have evry reason to be proud, you can make her memory even more profound by trying to emulate her bold and brave actions by not being afraid of those around you who may not look like you , speak the same language or believe in the God you worship.

The fact that your great grandma lived for a hundred and ten years without drugs to offset the afflictions that old age brings, makes one think how long would she have lived with that assistance. Your grandmother, indeed, deserved your being proud of her. She was a really tough cookie to endure all of what she went through. I do have one suggestion, though. The original inhabitants were not Indians, but Native Americans. Great job!

Thank you. I did mention that they were attacked by Native Americans while in the woods. After that it seemed less complicated to say Indians. Hugs.
