This story was well written, but what a sad turn of events. I never expected Jim to end up in trouble for trying to do a good deed. The end of the story was a definite surprise.

Excellent entry for the 200 Word Flash writing prompt contest. Poor Jim was doing too much for his neighbors and they took advantage of him. Hopefully he learned from his mistake. I know he was just trying to be a good neighbor.

Oh no! Poor Jim. And it is based on true events that is just awful. You did a good job feeding in the obligation that he felt. A good person who didn't want to be rude. It is a shame people take advantage of others.

What a terrible thing to happen. It makes you wonder. Why is it always the innocent that suffer? And how many people in the olden days were erroneously executed in the name of justice? I know of several cases. Kate xx
